One of us had the penthouse facing the fjord. Wonderful view! The floating sauna is within walking distance. The staff is very informative and helpful!
The penthouse has only one bathroom for 5 pax. Good to change the frying pans in the kitchen.

The room was clean and modern, and Aurland is a much prettier place to stay than Flam (which is very touristy with major cruise ships docking there). There is even a sauna on the fjord there though we didn't get to try it. I would suggest you have your mode of reliable transport and eat in Aurland rather than in Flam. There is a good supermarket nearby, and you can cook in your apartment. There is also a restaurant or two in the village where you can eat in the evening.
It was very difficult to get to Aurland (where Wangen Apartments are based) from Flam. When we arrived at Flam by train, we found that the bus from Flam to Aurland was fully booked, and we had to rely on the local taxi services. Wangen Apartments tried to help us call for a taxi, but no one answers the call or confirms anything and you have to keep calling yourself to get anything confirmed. In addition, when we called the night before to order a taxi for 8.45 am the next morning to get to Flam for our cruise, they said they could only do 8.30am. The next morning, they didn't turn up and said that we hadn't confirmed and that they were full. We had to keep calling again, and finally they arranged for someone to come to pick us up. During each journey, the driver would be taking many calls throughout our journey as obviously there are only 2 or 3 drivers, and they were the only taxi service available. What we thought would be a relaxing stay turned out to be quite stressful instead due to the taxi service.

Location, location, location. On the water with magnificent fjord view. Across the street from the shuttle to Flåm and the Spar grocery store. Very quiet picturesque area. Key code access convenient. Person at reception on site to help you with check in.
One bedroom Very small for the amount of money they charge.
