Just fabulous

Amazing hosts really helpful. Beautiful property great location clean and has everything you need. We had planned to go out but never left as it was so peaceful. Fresh eggs from chickens every morning sitting round fire pit at night and relaxing on deck with hot tub all day.

Would have liked a full length mirror and an extra set of cutlery but that’s nit picking really.

April weekend treat

Little Gem We stayed here for a weekend family break to visit longleat zoo. Wonderful host, beautiful location and super property. The hot tub was an extra special treat as we're the eggs from the chickens next door. We will be back! Thank you!

Amazing cosy getaway, so relaxing and peaceful.

Everything was amazing it was such a cosy place to stay for a weekend getaway with everything you need. Only a short drive from shops as well which was perfect. Hot tub was truly amazing. Beautiful view in morning.

Only thing that could be put in place would be a little table or shelf next to the hot tub, just as somewhere to put phones or drinks without a risk of them getting wet but such a minor thing that wouldn’t be a deal breaker, just a suggestion.

A lovely little getaway!

The property is cute and perfectly formed! It has all the amenities you need and the owners are lovely! The hot tub is a lovely addition, along with the fire pit! The view changes with the weather and I loved watching the wildlife from the comfort of the lodge, while sat on the sofa!

Everything about this lodge was perfect. Beautiful peaceful location (but close enough to local shops/pubs etc). Being city folk, we aren't used to seeing so many stars in the night sky - wonderful! Lots of space inside and out. Tastefully decorated, comfy beds, impeccably clean. All the amenities, no need to eat out if you don't want to. I'd still give 10 stars if there wasn't the addition of a hot tub but the fact that there was, makes it an 11 out of 10 for us! Prepared steaming hot, which was amazing on a cold January evening! Fun for the kids and a romantic wind down for us parents. The perfect family getaway on the border of beautiful Wiltshire/Somerset. We visited Longleat, Stourhead and Alfred's Tower.

The weather (haha). Hoping to return in Spring to enjoy the terrace on balmy evening

Chill out

Friendly and helpful hosts, spotlessly clean, we enjoyed the view over the rolling hills, from lodge and hot tub. We had fun toasting marshmallows on the fire pit, in-between the showers. Fab chill out.

Dog next door barked for a couple hours the first evening, spoiling the tranquility.

A fairytale lodge

Such a beautiful location with a very high standard lodge that is clearly looked after! Lots of lovely little touches that really showed the effort the hosts put in. Evenings in the hot tub are a must and toasted marshmallows over the fire pit too. We would definitely visit again!

We didn't stay long enough! We stayed for just a weekend but would have loved to have stayed longer and explored the area a bit more.

Exceptional

Beautiful place in a beautiful setting. Easy access to many attractions and things to see and do. The beds were super comfy and the hot tub was a mega bonus. Nothing was too much, we felt right at home by the hosts. Fresh eggs provided by their family hens, every detail was thought about, even using their gas for the BBQ. We loved it and would go again.

Stunning, relaxing get away in beautiful Somerset countryside

The lodge was beautiful, outside and in. The gift box of biscuits was such a lovely welcome! The eggs from the owners hens that were left for us were delicious! The milk and orange juice provided for breakfast was really appreciated too. The hot tub was on ready to use from when we arrived and it was very easy to request the fire pit logs. The giant marshmallows on the fire were yummy! The bedrooms were beautiful - the whole place was! We ate outside both days on the decking with the beautiful table. We went out site-seeing in the day and cooked and ate at the lodge both nights, so we could enjoy more time there in the amazing setting - and hot tub! The kitchen facilities were just right for a short stay and and everything was new, lovely and clean. There were plenty of good-quality bathroom towels provided. The Lodge cosy and welcoming, even down to the extra blankets provided which we used when sat around the fire pit. We would love to stay again, thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at Riding Gate Lodge, the lodge surpassed our expectations. We were lucky enough to be the first

The lodge was beautifully decorated, very clean, and we were left with tea, hot chocolate, fresh orange juice and more! There were board games and a TV available but we loved the hot tub outside with great views. And the outdoor bath with goldfish in is very cool! The lodge is in a great location to visit Stourhead.

Couldn’t fault anything!
