Mesogi Cottage

I had an amazing month and a half stay and couldn’t have asked for a better location. I specifically wanted to be just outside Paphos in a small village, and Mesogi was perfect. It's around a 10 minute drive into the centre while also being ideally located for exploring the northern side of the island. The village itself has a lovely mix of locals and expats, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, and after staying for so long it genuinely feels like I've become part of the community. There's a local pub, a few cafes, and a 24 hour bakery all within walking distance. The property is a beautiful and authentic stone building. I stayed by myself but there's plenty of space for a family of four, and a cosy, secure feel. Everything was clean, well maintained and in perfect working order, with a really lovely aesthetic throughout. The host was fantastic and very accommodating. As I was staying for a longer period, they also arranged weekly cleaning for me at an additional cost. Overall, a wonderful stay from start to finish. I felt completely at home and would love to return in the winter months to experience it in a different season!

People have previously mentioned the dogs barking next door. I did hear this, but it wasn't enough to keep me awake at night (although I do sleep with earplugs).

Beautiful and authentic house, very convenient for the family of four.

We loved the character of the property. Absolutely loved the fire place and used it every night of our stay. The kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed for our week long stay. We found it very useful having a utility room with a washing machine. In the utility room, we found a few beach umbrellas and a cooler box, very handy for beach trips as these are things you usually don't travel with. Sheltered parking right next to the house was great. The courtyard garden was small but lovely, catching perfect morning sun for an outdoor breakfast. The air conditioning was very useful on the colder nights, warming up the flat fast and efficiently, I'd imagine this being helpful in the summer time too. There was a lovely bakery a short walk away. They had ready home style meals, perfect for lunches or dinner, as well as the usual baked goods and great coffee.

The only negative we can think of is that the neighbour was loud on occasion, particularly in the evenings. She would be shouting at her dogs for barking... which was worse than the actual dogs barking. Really nothing to worry too much about and not something the host would be able to control, as it is a residential area. We managed to block it out quite easily.
