Great location! At the edge of the Kalakua Ave stir yet in a relax surrounding - just a bit noisy since your on street side but… you get the nice mountain view, sunrise and shade on the balcony at the end of your day. Two small negative points : no drip coffee maker (Keurig only - no K-cups supplied) and the wall with adjacent unit (417) is thin as paper, you can almost entertain a conversation.

Good:
- Reasonable no-surprise price, no resort fees
- Short 15-min walk to beach
- Close to shopping & restaurants
- Comfortable bed
- Generous storage, including “captain’s bed”
- Excellent pool, heated but not too hot, not over-chlorinated
- Plenty of room for a happy couple (we had worried about not having a separate bedroom, but with lanai and wonderful Honolulu weather, it was fine)
Bad:
- Sketchy people 24/7 in park across street
- Lots of traffic noise from Kalākaua
- Did not earn their cleaning fee
- Floor tile is stone, with natural holes, making it hard to clean; grout is white when actually cleaned!
- No vacuum cleaner to help guests clean up sand after a day on beach
- Poor lighting
- Poor drainage in bathroom sink
- Bathtub/shower knob difficult to operate
- Front desk staff has no role in addressing VRBO guest needs
- NO fan in unit; moldy odor, visible mold/mildew on all surfaces in bathroom, on unit floor, kitchen counter, around edge of kitchen sink, in sink and on baseboards. Able to remove most of it with diluted bleach solution but if not cleaned at least once a day, mold would reappear very quickly & unit would smell. We left the door to the Lanai open whenever we were there. Air conditioner was filthy, emitted worse odor even after cleaning of dirty/moldy removable filter
Other:
- Hotel switching from Aqua Aston to another mgmt company; unknown what impact this will have
- VRBO host contacted twice, they responded with hours (not days, not minutes)
