A little slice of perfect

The cottage was stunning, the owners had thought of everything it seemed and the location was idyllic: quiet and rural and just over a ten minute walk from the village. Our dogs loved the stream and the cool tiled floor.

Perfect in every way.

Peaceful, rural location within 10 minutes walk of Exford village centre. Friendly and helpful hosts who warmly welcomed us and our dog. Truly dog-friendly accommodation with an enclosed garden. Really well equipped-everything we could possibly need. Stunning barn conversion with the luxury of a sauna in the bathroom! Super comfy bed-I haven’t felt this well-rested for years!

An absolutely wonderful, retreat-like experience

Staying here was, honestly, flawless. The cottage itself was incredibly cosy and wonderfully renovated. The log fire, the well-provisioned kitchen, the delightful bedroom space and the super sauna tucked away in the bathroom...just a joy to call home for a couple of days. The location too is outstanding. Nestled into a little valley, surrounded by nature and a short stroll away from a small village with all that you could need for a few night aways, the cottage has been a highlight of the year. Highly and thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful barn conversion, in stunning location, with friendly hosts.

One of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed and I already can’t wait to come back! A beautiful barn conversion, with gorgeous old features, but modern high tech inside. Location was stunning and surprisingly accessible via public transport (although note the local bus only runs twice a day). The hosts were amazing and very friendly. They gave me directions and advice and even met me at the bus stop to help with my bags. The sauna was an added bonus after long days of hiking. Didn’t have a single fault, it was perfect.

Wow, wow, wow!

The location is amazing. It's so quiet and peaceful yet only a short stroll into the village (and what a stroll, along the river Exe!). We were lucky to get one clear-ish night to appreciate a proper starry sky! The accommodation was very comfortable: cosy yet plenty spacious enough for two and very tastefully decorated - bags of character but with modern touches (electronically operated velux windows, sauna, lovely shower and excellent WiFi connection). It was extremely well equipped - we hardly needed anything we bought from home! The owners were the perfect hosts - gave us a very warm welcome but then left us to it: unobtrusive but there if we needed them. Thank you so much for the welcome bottle of wine and cakes :)
