Very nice breakfast restaurant with many options
Highly recommend the Japanese restaurant, the main reason I came back to this hotel.

Been a few years since I last stayed. The reception bars Restaraunt area all top notch.
However my room was cold and looked like it hadn’t received any make over since it was built. Not that impressed.

We love a Van Der Valk hotel and Beveren never disappoints. Modern, excellent facilities, helpful staff, lots to entertain the kids and a great breakfast.
The menu in the garden restaurant is pricey and a bit random. Not quite sure what it is trying to be.

Clean
Not able to park my car and forced with a rather rude demanding note on my windscreen to move because of an event with Audi old timer’s which was prioritised over guests parking .
The spa facilities not open , swimming pool with cold water . No privacy in the shower as is seeing through from the entire room . Bad smell in the shower also . No available cosmetic mirror with magnifying option.
The gym right on the other side of the hotel rather than be close or next to the swimming pool and spa .
Complex way in getting to the room from the main reception ( 2 lifts - one to the second floor and a second to the 6th floor , as well as walking through two buildings not nice when carrying luggage ).

the hotel was beautiful, wonderful atmosphere and high class decoration. it had a very relaxing appeal and had plenty of options for dining, reconnecting. despite that there were lots of work going on with refurbishments, it did not impede on guests. the hotel catered for families, corporate and ,what appeared, local groups. All treated with professional curtesy. the food was outstanding and fresh, with fair choice of food. though as vegetarians, choice was a little limited and there was only one or two dishes for vegan diets. The breakfast was "Out Of This World!" lots of choices and plenty of it however, i would have liked a lighter option when we had to leave early, like a small continental, so we could grab and go. However, the overall opinion was that the hotel was wonderful value for money
taking nothing away from above statements, if we were abled bodied guests, I would not be able to find anything we didn't
like. was the the hotel accessible? yes, very. there was nowhere a person in a wheel chair could not go. on booking our room, a quick enquiry found that the room was not accessible, so the hotel kindly gave us a free upgrade to a accessible room, the bedroom was beautiful with plenty of room for most size wheel chairs. However, there was no door on the bathroom, it was a large space but had no ability to provide privacy and dignity to a disabled person. I enquired about this and was told that this was the design for accessible rooms. i pointed out that there was a groove in the ceiling for a slide door to be fitted but this was dismissed. i did look at other rooms but not were appropriate for my husbands needs so, we excepted the room given. i did find a couple of the staff a little abrupt over this issue ,borderline rude by one staff but i took it as lost in translation.
if i could also add, that a fitted shower seat would be more appropriate for the access rooms and moved a little nearer to the main rain forest shower so that the disabled person can feel more secure and have a choice of which shower head they want to use, the removable one was great but some one with mobility issues might need to use both hands, also, a shower curtain would contain the water, this would make independent showering possible, as it is, i had to remove my husbands wheelchair once he was in the shower and bring it back once he had finished . but , please, fit a bathroom door. a grip rail at the side of the bed would also help when someone with mobility issues to get in and out of bed.

The room was so nice and you could only hear a train/ tram but it was not much of an bother as you may think. The staff was so nice and understanding. There was a dirty pillow and they immediately send staff up to clean it. We had a late check-out (due to problems with our car) and only stayed 20 minutes later then the check-out and they did not charge us. break fast was also good. if you are by car there are so many stores, restaurants close by. Never been more relaxed even after the stress with the car.

We love this hotel and stay every August. The facilities are excellent (the pool, spa and kids play area are top quality) and the breakfast buffet exceptional value for money. We were upgraded to the new rooms, which have been really well done. To be fair, the older rooms are still great. Coffee machines in room are a great luxury touch. Staff are always helpful and courteous.
Gave a score of 9/10 as for second year running building works going on during our stay and mess in hallways wasn't ideal. As the hotel isn't cheap (especially dinner, which is pricey and slightly odd menu compared to what we would be used to in the UK) it's a disruption that has impact on overall experience. Fingers crossed all finished by next year.

Really nice room with plenty of space and very friendly, accommodating staff.
You can hear a lot of the noise outside, despite the heavy door. Not the hotel’s fault if people are lingering in the hallways but it was very annoying.

Room was clean and spacious.
- Unfriendly staff at the restaurant (breakfast and dinner): waiting for the order intake for drinks took 15min, but not due to lack of personnel, but rather chatting in front of obviously waiting guests. Nagger asking for the bill I was again sitting there for 15min - the bill came right away but no one where to pay. Quite strange. The young lady at the breakfast was super unfriendly and it seemed that she doesn’t like to be there.
- pretty loud in the room due to rail tracks right next to the hotel

Restaurant first class. An excellent dinner with very good wines

The room was very good - albeit there was a bit of a smell when one first entered and that sometimes lingered. We couldn't ascribe this smell to anything in particular - drains, the bathroom or an external source. It was a little off-putting. We were visiting relatives nearby and thus we only slept and had breakfast in the hotel. The breakfasts were excellent and, couldn't be bettered for choice, quantity or quality.
We were not informed prior to arrival that there was extensive refurbishment work being undertaken on one of the bedroom blocks. The work didn't affect our stay but this was an unprofessional oversight on the part of the hotel - the drainage work associated with this refurbishment may have been the source of our smell. As a consequence of the refurbishment work we were given a 'sorry' card that entitled us to free coffee. We had breakfast included in our hotel costs and there were coffee making facilities in our room. Thus, in reality, this was a hollow and unused gesture on the part of the management,

Very nice room (Junior Suite). Good breakfast. Had some good dinner in the hotel restaurant "The Nest".
Bacon at breakfast could have been more crispy (sometimes more cooked than fried).
