Casa Pueblo Overlooking the Village of Lubrín!

Lovely little casa above the village with everything you need for a pleasant stay in the area. Karen is a delight and very knowledgeable about the area, she is also the local estate agent if you are property hunting as we were. Internet is very good and parking is next to the casa.

It’s a bit of a walk into the village of only about 1/2 kilometre but quite steep down hill on the way in and unfortunately uphill on the way back. So if you are not fully mobile it will require a short drive into town, which is not a problem as long as you have a car.

The property was clean, had towels and a comfortable living room and patio in the back. The view was lovely and plenty of parking right next to the property. The town was quaint and had all the essentials to escape into some spanish culture. We had a couple of wasps nests which were dealt with swiftly and easily by Karen. Additionally, when we encountered an issue at the start of our stay due to the website itself, Karen was actively seeking a solution on our behalf, through booking.com and her local contacts, one of which was able to help us - we had managed ot book the same accommodation twice and ended up with half of the beds we expected.

While the property was comfortable and fulfilled all of our needs, communicstion before our arrival wasn't completely helpful; We weren't arriving until the second day we book and so I asked if there was any chance to change the dates of the bookings, which we weren't able to. A negative response would have been adequate, but the first unautomated response took over 3 months to come after a couple of attempts to get in contact through booking.com and when we did speak and i raised the quetion again it was ignored. We also felt there was an uncomfortable amount of surveillance from the host herself. Karen is clearly a valued memeber of the commmunity and her communication was always polite and helpful where possible. However, the issues we encountered at the beginning of the stay were spoken about and we had a neighbour speaking to us about it, which seemed a bit off. Karen raised the concern that the property was left with windows open and vulnerable while we were out and after speaking to those staying in the house this was corrected, this was poor stewardship on our behalf, but we also received messages asking us to turn lights off, which is understandable, encouraged the feeling that we were being watched, we didn't feel like this would be a common communication at anouther property and felt that it was invading the privacy we had paid for. We also had an unannounced visit from the host's partner one afternoon, which was completely unnacceptable and impounded this sense of surveillance. While the trip and property were lovely, the initial issue we had witht booking.com and the sense of being watched impeded the comfort of our stay.
