Pack up your favorite bathing suit and swing on by Ed Z'Berg Sugar Pine Point State Park and set up on the sandy shores with a beach towel and a good book. Gaze out at the mountains in the distance and enjoy this one-in-a-lifetime vista of Lake Tahoe and take in its turquoise waters as you dip your feet in the tides. Truckee River Rafting is less than six miles out where you can bring your family and friends and ride down the winding rivers in this incredible rafting experience!
Relax on the family/dog-friendly Tahoe Pines beach with loved ones and enjoy a sunny day out. Take a trip to the top of Eagle Rock, just a mile out from your vacation rental. Also available in the summer/fall is the gorgeous Tahoe Pines Gnome Village, tucked right near Barker Creek. The trail that leads up to the village is a local hotspot and a fan favorite of families. Play some fun yard games out on the leveled-out and large lawn, or take a much-needed nap in the hammock that rests in between the aspen trees. There's a private balcony as well that gives you the best seating around for a fantastic view of the sunset. Let the morning sun shine onto your skin on the back deck or rest for a while under the shade.

There are a few mostly minor issues with the house:-the run-down shed is alarming as the first thing you see pulling up to the house. -The hammock has a massive hole rendering it unusable. -There is an electrified bear mat before you enter and the only notice to turn it off was buried in the “getting there” portion of a welcome email-The couch is actually the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I’ve ever experienced-there apparently is a no-dogs-upstairs rule, which is not mentioned anywhere in the post and is written on a sticky note in the house.The good things about the house:-great location, about 10 minute drive to Tahoe pines with groceries, restaurants, etc.-very private feeling house out in nature (as shown by the bear that walked through the front yard on our last day there)-The house has heated bathroom floors and toilet seats, and great showers-it is overall comfortable feeling (including the beds)

Nicely remodeled, Tahoe cabin nestled in the quaking aspen trees, At the end of a private lane. I would’ve given this home five stars but for a few things. The Tahoe Pines private dock key didn’t work. The couch in front of the fireplace has to be one of the most uncomfortable pieces of furniture I’ve ever sat on.

Thank you again for sharing your home with us. This was our third year staying here, and while we’ve appreciated the consistency and some of the nice touches the home offers, we did want to share a few observations from this recent stay that may be helpful for future guests.
Unfortunately, the home is starting to feel a bit tired. It seems that there haven’t been many updates over the years, and that’s beginning to show. The beds and pillows were especially uncomfortable this time around, which actually led us to cut our trip short. The Wi-Fi was also not working during our stay, which made things more difficult.
We also noticed the kitchen lacked many basics—even items like salt and pepper had to be purchased. Additionally, there’s a broken door on the outdoor storage unit that could pose a safety risk, especially for families with children.
We’re sharing this feedback with kindness and the hope that it helps guide any future improvements. We’ve enjoyed staying here in the past and would love to see the home refreshed so it can continue to be a great spot for guests.
