Good location and cheap, but place is very run down, no one was there to check me in or out so I had to call the owner, breakfast seemed to just be some food left in the fridge that anyone could access at any time

+Great location, easily accessible to any part of town, with bus stop just a stone's throw from main entrance.
+Breakfast (mostly bread and pastries) is laid out every morning. Help yourself to the food anytime till late at night. Guests are provided with small plastic doggie bags and encouraged to take food out to save money.
+Kitchen can be used at all times of the day, even late at night.
+Lovely energy in the hostel as it was 90% young students living there. Occasional older tourists.
+Safe deposit boxes which can fit a large laptop and anything important (but pls byo lock and key. Locker must be the bigger type cos those tiny locks will not fit). Smart that there is even a power socket inside each locker!
+Eveline is the elderly owner of this hostel. She responded to my queries as best and the soonest that she could and was always very friendly to me.
-Cleanliness. Floors were not cleaned regularly. Sheets and blankets did not smell fresh. No laundry facilities in site. Kitchen utensils and plates were usually uncleaned (this was due to guests as well).
-This is a hostel, so bring your own towels and bed linen.
-Noise pollution. Doors banged almost constantly when shut. This was due to the lack of sound proofing for the doors, and the kitchen was located right above my room. This was an old wooden building so every footstep could be heard. My suggestion is to wear earplugs at night - I wore one every night and had no issues sleeping.
-Very cold and wet-smelling rooms on street level. No heating was provided in early autumn.
-There was water stains on the walls next to my bed as well. I literally felt ill after staying for too long inside the rooms.
-Shower head was broken. But the rest of the ladies shared room toilet was clean and renovated.
