The Duck Creek Village Getaway

The location in the village was perfect. The home was very well appointed and had everything we could need plus some.

With lots of kids and a dog, we had some snow/mud that was tracked in that we would've liked to have mopped up, but could only find brooms. The temperature downstairs was very cold and we could not figure out how to get it warmer. The upstairs area was very hot. The tub in the downstairs bathroom was very slow to drain. Did hear from some that the beds were very soft. I personally found the master bed comfy. The driveway does become icy, and it was plowed, but rock salt could have been put out to decrease slips and falls.

At the time of booking, we did not realise that we would need either a 4 wheel drive or chains to get up to the property during the winter months. We were only informed of this requirement after it was too late to cancel the booking for the property. Also we were given the wrong passcode to access the property.

It had everything we needed, beds comfortable, plenty of pillows, blankets, linens and towels. It was super spacious for my large family. We really enjoyed the large windows for the beautiful outdoor views. It was a close proximity to everything we wanted to do and see. It had plenty of parking. We really enjoyed our time there.

The hosts were terrific. We enjoyed the cabin a great deal: it had all needed amenities and the beds were comfortable. We had a large group and fit in it easily. It is very spacious. We could do all things together in a big group. The slushy roads around us and difficulty getting there caused us to abandon our travel plans and we just stayed indoors ... and had a great time! We recommend this property to anyone!

We didn't realize that getting to the cabin required a steep climb, no matter which roads we took, and our winter preparations didn't overcome the weather: be aware of this if renting in the winter. Also, some of the bedding is in an open loft, which prevented some children from getting to sleep when the older kids were playing.
