Jin Jiang Star Hotel

Very clean room

Pros: Great location for events, friendly staff, spacious room. Cons: Awful odor, dirty sheets, smoky lobby, poorly designed/draining shower. We chose to stay at the Jinjiang Inn (Jinjiang Star) because it’s a convenient 5-minute drive from the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), which was perfect for attending my sister’s graduation. The staff here are incredibly accommodating and kind. Without us even asking, they went out of their way to deliver our food directly to our room, and they quickly fulfilled our request for two additional pairs of slippers. The room itself was quite large and the interior design looked really awesome and visually appealing. However, that’s where the positives end. Unfortunately, we had a very hard time feeling comfortable during our stay: •Cleanliness & Odor: While the interior looks great, it was simply not clean. The room smelled awful the moment we walked in. Worse, the bedsheets looked dirty and smelled strongly of sweat and cigarette smoke. It was so unpleasant that, for the first time ever, I couldn't even eat properly inside the room or get a decent night's sleep. •Bathroom Issues: The shower area drains poorly or lacks a proper barrier, causing the entire bathroom floor to get easily soaked and flooded every time someone takes a bath. •The Lobby: Smoking is permitted freely right in the lobby area, meaning you are immediately hit with the smell of cigarettes when you walk through the doors. •Location: The hotel sits right next to a residential area. Because of this, the surroundings felt a bit strange and didn't feel entirely safe to walk around in. Verdict: The hotel staff are wonderful and the rooms have great potential because of their size and design, but the lack of cleanliness, flooding bathroom, and heavy cigarette smell ruined the experience for us. I unfortunately wouldn't stay here again unless they drastically improve their maintenance and housekeeping standards.

The room and the service is good but they don't have a non-smoking room so you can smell cigarette smoke eventhough the room was cleaned. They have parking space but it is on the roadside opposite the building. It does have a security though.

Being new to Manila, it came as surpise to discover the hotel is based in the slums area of the city. The building looks ok at the lobby, but upstairs, the fabric of the building is realling showing its age. Corridor walls have deep scars in them and the apprearance of mould. The cockroach walking down the corridor was what convinced me to cut short my visit and go elsewhere. If price is more important than looks and location doesn't bother you. Then come and stay here. Otherwise give this place a miss.
