Too basic for me, it was like a two star but great position in the village

The property is in a fabulous position right in the Central of the town. They just walked out of the hotel and you’re in the middle of everything perfect positioning. It had a good car park at the back of the hotel. No need to start looking for parking.

The hotel is very basic. I would rate it as a two star there’s nothing in the rooms no extras very poorly decorated the bed bottom particularly comfortable and the pillows were the size of pillows you’d give to a two year-old or a baby. We had to pay more mell rooms as a room is so tiny I could put our cases down. The staff were particularly welcoming or helpful There was no cups in the room only a tiny paper water cup there was no fridge and no extras in the bathroom. Nothing. Extreme basic, I wouldn’t stay there again.

Underwhelmed with this hotel

We had a room with bath and a handheld shower, the shower had no wall bracket and there was no shower curtain which fo us was not good at all , it is very easy to provide an option for standup shower and bath, this spoilt it for us.

Would not recommend - very disappointed and expensive for what facilities we had

The location

For a hotel supposedly trying to be grand we were disappointed with room facilities. Yes it had a kettle but only paper cups useless for hot drinks-where are china cups. Water bottle left in room was warm as there was no fridge in the room and no room temperature regulation. Unable to refill bottle at fountain as couldn’t fit bottle under tap and it did look as if it needed a good clean. The bathroom shower had to be used sitting in the bath -no handrails to assist getting out of bath - no shower curtain making the floor very wet . There as no water available at breakfast ,very little choice for breakfast and no cooked breakfast on Saturday The way in from the car park had too many steps trying to get in with luggage and quite dangerous.

Our Favourite place

Loved the big comfy bed The bath. The sunny terrace with fabulous view of the lake. The pool was lovely. We had a really enjoyable relaxing time. We have been before many times and we will be back again soon. We Love Bagnoles de l'Orne

The carpet was stained. The furniture was chipped. The jacuzzi was out of order on the last day. The Restaurabt was honestly very poor and expensive. We will be coming again but will never eat in the restaurant again

Lovely resort

The location was fabulous. The view of the lake from our terrace was so lovely. Our bathroom was very clean & modern - nice to have a bath. The bed was very generous & comfortable. Parking was free & just behind the hotel. Breakfast was good with views over the lake. Reception was very friendly. The resort of Bagnoles de L'Orne is very welcoming, lots of places to eat & drink & lovely walks around the lake. There was something old fashioned about it all, but in a good way.

Having to leave. We will definitely stay for longer next time.

Needs updating

The area is great and good parking

Rooms are very dated, the carpet was stained and the curtains had holes in. The breakfast was poor, everything needed restocking when we arrived around 8.30. Cutlery is dumped on the bar, cereals were served in small bowls that emptied quickly. Bath towels smelt fusty. The outside of the building is in poor repair and the windows around the reception were very dirty.

Ridiculous amount of steps from the car park at rear of hotel. I had said I was unable to manage stairs in the booking!! We finally managed to persuade the unhelpful receptionist to let us park at the front. The disabled parking spot was unavailable because the builders were parking there who were important than us according to the receptionist! The balcony needed a good wash and a coat of paint.

I really like the area and have visited many times, this is the first time i have stayed at this hotel and i have to say so far its the best in the location. I will be staying again!

Towels for the pool, if they have towels available in the pool area it would be great as we had to use the towels from the bathroom in our rooms so when we showered the towels where still damp. Its sounds petty but it would just be a better touch.

Recommend this place for stay

We really liked our room with three beds with the lake view. It was clean and beds are very comfortable. We used the pool and sauna, which were good. Walking around was enjoyable. A few great restaurants nearby. Parking was behind the hotel.

We liked the fish pedicure experience. Glad they could fit us in at short notice as only 1 night stay.

Lovely spa hotel for a weekend

Lovely staff. Hotel very clean and cosy. Nice room overlooking the lake. Brilliant location just by the lake. It was also nice to have tea and coffee in the room (not so common in France)

Didn't get chance to use sauna or hammam on first day as they are both quite small and they were full. It would also be good to put a timer on the jacuzzi so that more people can use it (people tended to just sit in it chatting for a long time without realising other people were waiting for someone to get out)

They got our restaurant booking wrong. A waiter got our order wrong 3 times. The room was a bit on the cold side. We turned the thermostat as high as it would go 22. But it didn't seem to work

Extremely attractive hotel over looking the lake of a high standard throughout.

We stayed here for a few days over Christmas. Breakfast included in our deal was excellent with plenty of choice for us. Our Christmas meal was a la carte dining and we were surprised how reasonable it was. We had a large balcony overlooking the beautiful lake which was a bonus. Beautiful walks in Bagnoles. We did not tKe advantage of the pool or spa treatments but will on a future date. Highly recommended!

No meals on Boxing day at our Hotel but we did eat at the casino round the corner. The meal we had at the casino was not to the same standard as our hotel Du Beryl. This year we will book any meals out side the hotel well in advance,. Bagnoles has many excellent restaurants close to our hotel.

Great location but could do better

Location - beautiful view overlooking the lake. It's also right in the centre of town.

Bedrooms need upgrading regarding carpets and curtains. Dinner menu unexciting and lacking in quality. No bar facilities.
