About this apartment rental

Beautiful ground floor apartment in a small private and secure development in the Playa Serena area of Roquetas de Mar urbanisation (resort). The apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (plus sofa bed in the living area), air con in all bedrooms and living area, TV (European and UK) and WIFI. There is also a spacious terrace with fantastic private plunge pool (4m x 2m x1m). The terrace gets sun all afternoon. There is also a communal pool and gardens with sun loungers and parasols which overlooks the Playa Serena golf course. The development is close to the natural park and bird reserve.

This apartment is in a small recently built development in a quiet family friendly location in Playa Serena, the most desirable part of the Roquetas de Mar resort. The attractive building is in a lovely location overlooking the Playa Serena golf course. In this quiet location you can have your own oasis of calm away from the noise that is typical of hotels and apartment complexes in other parts of the resort/urbanisation.

The resort has a very large and spacious beach stretching approx. 6km from the Playa Serena area (southern end) to the port area (at the northern end) and with promenade/cycle path along the entire length. The beach has ample space for all, even in high season. There are sunbeds available to hire, chiriquitos (beach restaurants), and water sports. The beach also extends to the north towards the neighbouring resort of Aguadulce and to the south alongside the natural park (clothing optional area).

There are numerous restaurants, bars, cafes and shops throughout the resort. All types of cuisine are catered for and there are many excellent Spanish restaurants serving traditional and modern tapas. The port area is excellent for seafood restaurants. The beach, restaurants, bars, shops, etc, are just 15-20 minutes away on foot.

The apartment is modern, bright and spacious with beautiful polished marble floors. It has 2 bedrooms plus a spacious and comfortable double sofa bed in the living area. There is combined air con/heating with individual controls in the bedrooms and lounge area. The spacious master bedroom has a double bed, ample wardrobe storage space and en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has 2 single beds, ample wardrobe storage space and an adjacent bathroom. The kitchen is well appointed with fridge freezer, electric hob, dishwasher, microwave, and washing machine. The apartment has secure WiFi. To the rear of the kitchen is a small private courtyard with a sink and washing machine where clothes can be put out to dry.

The apartment is on the ground floor and so benefits from easy access to the communal pool area. However, it also has a large terrace with private plunge pool, perfect for cooling off or having fun. The private plunge pool is a unique feature compared to other apartments in the area and provides the feeling of a mini villa for the price of an apartment. The pool and terrace receive the sun all afternoon.

The terrace has sun loungers, outdoor dining furniture and a BBQ and a retractable canopy for when shade is required. Relax in the evening as the sun sets behind the distant Sierra Nevada and Sierra de Gador mountains.

The communal pool is set in a well maintained lawned garden area with palm trees. Around the pool there are sun loungers and parasols and also showers and toilets. Unlike many other developments, the pool area is rarely crowded and often you may have it to yourself, even in high season.

The pools are unheated. The communal pool is typically open from May 1 - Sept 30. The private plunge pool is available and included in rental rates between May 1 - Sept 30 but may be made available for limited periods outside of these dates upon request and at additional cost to cover cleaning and maintenance.

For guests with a car, free parking is included in the secure underground car park (accessed via remote control which is provided on request). There is a lift from the car park to all levels. Parking is also available in the street outside the building.

The apartment and complex are safe and secure with videocom access from the street, secure doors, shutters and lockable terrace gate and a safe. There is also free secure underground car parking.

For families with very small children, a cot and high chair can be made available at a small additional cost. Well behaved pets are permitted subject to prior approval with the owner and at an additional small fee.

There are regular flights to Almeria (LEI) from the UK (Manchester, Birmingham, Stansted, Gatwick, Leeds, Luton and Newcastle) with various airlines. Airport transfers by private taxi can be arranged if required.

The apartment was good and spacious, had everything we needed. Sun all afternoon on the terrace. Although we used our bikes to go to the beach and restaurants, they were both easily in walking distance. We also used our car to go to the big supermarkets which were only 10-15 minutes away. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We would like to stay there again.

Nice, private west facing terrace. Beach is a bit shingly. The apartment was clean and tidy on arrival. Note that bedding needs to be laundered/changed by guests on long stays. Had a few teething problems with key collection and heating but the Property manager and owner were very responsive with any issues. Satellite tv was not working - needed an update and there’s only a single power socket in the kitchen above the worktops. The Spanish extension lead was useful in the lounge for our gadgets - thanks. The rust on the side of the bath in the family bathroom looked unsightly but the owner says it’s going to be repaired.

Great month in this apartment, large rooms with the added bonus of two bathrooms and huge terrace with plunge pool. The sun is with you late into the evening to relax with a nice glass of wine on the terrace. The apartment is in a nice quiet location, we did not have a car and enjoyed the short walk to the local bars and cafes. There is also a bus stop nearby which takes you everywhere and very cheap. Will look at booking again in future. Les

As we hadn't booked an apartment abroad before we didn't really have anything to compare this with but overall our stay was very enjoyable. We would like to provide details of the good and also the not so good points. Good Points - Very spacious apartment with good sized rooms. En-suite shower excellent and family bathroom serviceable but needs a bit of TLC. - Well equipped kitchen. - Plunge pool was lovely and the patio area was a real sun trap. Communal pool area also well maintained and very quiet which was a pleasant surprise compared to using a hotel. - Steel shutters and front door an excellent security feature. Bad Points - Television reception very poor and was reported early in the stay to CMS but no obvious action taken. Therefore no television for duration of our stay. - Two settees in the lounge very tired and need replacing. - Information folder needs updating as inaccurate. Despite the slightly negative points, and if the television was sorted, we would stay there again.
