Hôtel Château Cléry

It’s a beautiful building with a lovely garden to sit in and hence it’s not a typical plastic hotel The rooms are large with good beds Staff are very friendly - although clearly stretched !

Breakfast was very crowded as a very small space for many people. The shower was in a bath that you need to step into and there was no handle to hold. Menu in restaurant had no vegetarian options and as hotel is in a small village you need to drive for 10-15 min for other restaurants

Having stayed 2 weekends at Chateau Clery, I have experienced different rooms, having been upgraded to a superior room in our first stay. Both rooms were beautiful and extremely comfortable and clean. The dinner really was exceptional in terms of quality, presentation and cost.

The property is very attractive from the outside that sits in land, quiet at night and close to the Chunnel crossing. Many of the chateaus features seem to be authentic clean Breakfast was varied and good value if part of bed and breakfast deal rather than paying separately. The staff are kind and very accommodating.

The overall facilities are tired and need of financial investment. Key features in the en-suite need to be added eg somewhere to hang a towel, a toilet paper holder, shelf to place toiletries, shelf in the shower for shower gel etc Mattresses need replacing as you roll into the middle of the bed No food available for the time we stayed so we had to eat sandwiches in the bedroom
