Disappointing Experience – Safety Concerns and Poor Maintenance Our experience was very disappointing. The check-in process was unclear, and I was required to share my personal information and credit card details through a third-party website, which made me uncomfortable. On our second day, an earthquake occurred while we were staying on the 24th floor. We did not feel safe staying that high up. During the earthquake, several items fell, including the paintings hanging on the walls. We asked to be moved to a lower floor because of our safety concerns, but we were told that no lower rooms were available. We were also unable to obtain a refund. As a result, we had to pay for another accommodation for two nights just to feel safe, before eventually having to return. The condition of the apartment was also disappointing. The room appeared poorly finished, the bathroom door lock was broken, and there were visible stains. The swimming pool was empty and missing several tiles, giving the impression that it had not been properly maintained or renovated in years. Regarding the comments about cockroaches, I personally did not see any during our stay, so I cannot confirm those complaints. Overall, the experience fell below our expectations. Although an earthquake is beyond the property’s control, the lack of alternative accommodation or a refund when we raised genuine safety concerns made the situation even more stressful. Combined with the poor maintenance and unclear check-in process, this made our stay unpleasant. I would have expected better maintenance, clearer procedures, and more understanding and support from the accommodation during such an unexpected situation.
