Great location - close to cafes, restaurants and supermarket, spacious, clean and all the amenities for a comfortable stay. A small welcome pack on arrival would be a nice addition after a days travel.

A little dark in the laneway when coming home at night. With the windows open there was a little noise in the morning from the restaurant below.

The kitchen and Living Room were the only two areas that were comfortable to be in as we had a heatwave of 38+ degrees for 3 days. A great escape from the heat but the skylights can make the apartment very uncomfortable on a hot day.

The entrance to the apartment was horrendous, through the back kitchen of the restaurant below, the smell of grease, old bottles and cans engulfed the staircase to the apartment. Two separate entrances would make this place 10x better and eliminate a tonne of noise pollution from the restaurant morning and night. Hope you like to go to bed late and get up early because the business below is fully operational morning and night! It felt like you're a prisoner in your own apartment sometimes when it's busy downstairs.. Adding a small amount of pipework for the extraction fan above the stove in the kitchen should be a priority as well. No small kitchen supplies (glad wrap, baking paper & foil) coffee or tea.. not an expensive request but at the end of the day it's an apartment and you should have these small creature comforts to ease you into your stay. I'm not sure if the quality of short stay apartments have changed but the bedding was horrendous, I've never understood why you can't buy proper bed sheets... At the end of the day this place is an investment stop being tight arses and use proper bedding. I know this is probably the normality of short stays but when you're paying close to $1000 for 3 nights you would expect more than just a nice living room and kitchen... Maybe a quilt cover too. But full appreciation to Balmain as it is a beautiful location and made up for the short falls in the apartment! I would highly recommend staying in Balmain but if the option is there try somewhere else!
