Holiday Inn Express - Ankara - Airport by IHG

The breakfast was really good- why aren't ALL Holiday Inn Hotels the same? We enjoyed a hot and cold buffet. The hot buffet had Mercemek Corba(Lentil Soup), Menemen( Turkish Scrambled Eggs), English Scrambled Eggs, sausages, sautéed potatoes- the cold buffet offered salads, crudités, all kinds of dips, a wide variety of olives, cheeses, fruit, a choice of bread, croissants, brioches . The were cereals too, and fruit juice and hot beverages. One of the best hotel breakfasts we've had recently!

It would have been nice to have printed menus in the rooms, rather than be obliged to scan the QR Code menus. Also, Room Service wasn't available.

It was close to airport

The key cards would stop working for door.

-The room was bright and clean -The bed was very comfy -The restaurant was open 24/7 -The staff prepared a "sandwich" for the early check-out -Wifi was great -Location was great, very close to the airport. It costs around 5 EUR to get there.

-The food at the hotel's restaurant was not very tasty. I felt like I was eating something from a cheap fast-food place -Even though I appreciated the breakfast prepared for me earlier than 7 am, the "sandwhich" as they called it was not a real sandwich, it was a hamburger bun with a few slices of cheese and salad, not tasty at all.

Room is comfortable and staff are friendly

I find it quite ridiculous that the airport shuttle doesn't start until 8am. I've never known anything like it at any other airport hotel. The free airport shuttle was my sole reason for staying there and the only thing that sets it apart from the Ibis which is the other option. Surely the whole point of an airport shuttle is to help you get to early flights and from late ones! I had to take a taxi anyway. Rather disappointing
