A bright, airy apartment in a great location with easy access to public transit.

The location was great. Subway on the corner. Easy Access to most of Berlin. Restaurants coffee shops and grocery stores within one block. The apartment is minimal but we where there for naps and sleeping. Bed was comfy. It had everything we needed.

Apartment was near everything we needed, restaurants, gelato, train, groceries. We visited during a hot spell - as the apartment isn't air conditioned, a fan would be helpful. Sleeping with the windows open was necessary, but loud. Otherwise, perfect apartment for our needs.

We planned this rental approximately 18 months earlier. Ute would not provide any weekly rate or monthly rate. She nickle and dimed us to death. She would not respond to emails. I and my party became concerned as to whether we had an apartment or not. She constantly stated that she was away and would reply shortly. She did not until I would send two or three messages. Upon arrival, she was not there. She had asked us to provide our flight arrival information, which I did. She asked us to call when we were enroute, which I did. She had not expected us out of the airport so quickly, so she was still at least 20 minutes away. We waited in the hot sun for 15 or 20 minutes with our luggage after a long, international flight before she finally arrived. We liked the apartment immediately. It truly is centrally located. Having two bedrooms and two bathrooms was fantastic. We were within a block of the subway station, the taxi corner, a grocery store, pharmacy, flower shop, bakeries, flea market, dry cleaners, pizza place, other shops, and restaurants. It was very easy to get anywhere and very simple to obtain groceries. Despite our rental having been planned for 18 months, here is what we found upon arrival (and we stayed for a month): Coffee machine was filthy. I spent an hour scouring it. Tea kettle was filthy. I spent some time scouring it. Bed linens were pilled and looked as if they were 20 years old. We had said there were only two of us for the first week. With two single beds in each room, Ute ensured that there were no linens, no extra pillows or comforters on the other beds. The TV remote did not work. Ute had obviously not checked out this apartment before our arrival. The only way to operate the TV was to stand beside it and push the channel or on/off or volume buttons on the top. Totally unsatisfactory. Ute did return home to obtain a new remote and brought it back the next day. It also quit working. We bought batteries for it. For English-speaking guests, no English-language channels at all on the TV. We've traveled the world and this is the first time we've encountered no English channels at all. Ute charges for each additional person in the apartment above 2 persons at 11 euros per person per day. This was excessive. Although we were staying for a month and were paying the normal daily rate, Ute refused to provide any cleaning service, such as one would expect at the end of a rental, whether it was
