Hotspring pool villa

Me and my wife had Hotspring Pool Villa. Villa is nice and style is modern. In the bathroom is big bathtub and the water comes from natural spring (40°C hotwater). Villa has little private yard with decks, palmtrees and many plants, crowned with pool that is big enough for swimming (1,40m deep and maybe around 10m long).

To get the hotspring bathtub ready to use, sometimes you have to run water for very long time until it gets hot - last night that we stayed it took 40min to get hot and 20min to fill up. Because of the plants and trees on the yard there is all the time a lot of carbage from trees and plants - even the staff come atleast once a day to clean it. Same broblem with the pool - a lot tree leafs, flowers etc. in and on the water when you are swimming. The was end of march, so I don't know if it's depending from season(?). Maintenance is a bit overlooked so all the villa's outdoor stuctures are a bit worn. Tiles are missing, paint is coming off from here and there, Moss and alga is growing here and there on the deck tiles and walls. And even my foot went throw the deck plate (they fixed it very fast). We had payed halfboard and the food was just okay and basicly same from day to day (thai food mostly). Maybe would not take that option, it's not worth the money, I think.

Not as good as expected

Location is remote, could be good if you’re trying to get away from busy areas. Most staff was very friendly. Massages were really good, among the best we’ve had in Thailand

The hotel seems like a shadow of what it could be (or maybe ever was). We booked a room in the modern newer building after reading reviews of musky smells, thinking it would be better in those. Safe to say that assumption was wrong. Our room smelled very moldish and musky from the beginning. Dehumidifying with the airco helped a bit. There was visible mold on the ceiling, little holes all over the ceiling too. Weird smears all over the walls and door. Terrace was dirty, our entire stay there was candy wrappers from previous guests under the bed (pretty well visible). The food was okay but not great. Restaurant staff was often rude or untrained. The 2nd restaurant wasn’t even open. Everything about the place seemed run down, old, badly maintained and not clean. It’s a real shame that the hotel is run this way as the location and nature outside is absolutely beautiful. This place could be an actual gem, but unfortunately it’s far from it due to these very clear details, it’s not even like its subtle.

This hotel has massive potential, but it’s seriously lacking in key areas.

Safety is a major concern – extremely dangerous for children, with broken wooden railings on the first floor that a child could easily slip through. This is highly unacceptable. The restaurant food was nice, and while the staff were sometimes accommodating, they could also be difficult at times. Reception staff, however, were all lovely and very helpful. The pool area is beautiful, but swimming in the evening felt unsafe as it wasn’t lit up properly. Our room had several issues: the shower didn’t work (only replaced on the last day), the toilet was overflowing, and the water ran yellow. On top of this, there were ongoing renovation works that neither the hotel nor Booking.com informed us about, despite us specifically asking before arrival. Overall, not recommended until these serious issues are addressed.

Disappointed dangerous, could have been so much better

Safety should always be paramount. A hole in the balcony with a 3 year old is very dangerous. Was reported in day 1 and never fixed. Our 3 year old almost slipped through! Shower didn’t work , toilet got blocked and the water was yellow! No alternative milks for vegans

Ok for a one night stay.

Amazing entrance to the hotel. Met by staff who transported us to our rooms via a golf buggy. Very easy check in process. Pool area was lovely and clean. Hot springs and cold plunge pool were great.

Very remote location with not much around. Restaurant on the beach was closed as out of season. We ate in the restaurant in the hotel and the food wasn't great. Bland and not warm enough. Staff weren't very friendly unlike all the other people we met on our travels. Rooms were spacious, however smelt damp and felt a bit dated.

The hotspring pools were really nice, hotel restaurant was good, good value for money and quite peaceful surroundings.

Our room had a musty smells, the bathroom smelled the whole entire stay. A lot of maintenance should be done around the resort. The pool table should have been well equipped to play properly.

Rooms quite old - shower on upper floor not working, as well as sliding door. Quite dusty in some areas. Should have asked for new rooms / near pools, etc even with fee to upgrade. Will be more valuable for money. Trees should be checked as some falling down, almost cause accidents to guests. The day with storm - falling down on the car!!

We loved it

The breakfast buffet was excellent. Western and Thai options. The coffee and cappuccino were delicious. The fresh produce is presented in a separate air-conditioned room. We booked dinner, which was also very tasty and plentiful. Since it was my birthday, the staff even serenaded me with a fruit plate, like a cake with lit candles. The modern sea-view rooms are spacious and having a balcony is very convenient. The staff was very friendly. The thermal baths are wonderful, even if they're a bit dated. The large pool with bar and jacuzzi are wonderful.

This isn't a negative aspect. I just wanted to point it out. We were there during the off-season, so it was pleasantly quiet. At full capacity, it might be a bit busier.

Please put extra anti-slip mat on the side of icy pool beside the long mat as it is VERY SLIPPERY and DANGEROUS when wet. Two ladies slipped and fell hard on the floor while walking towards the pool. I myself slipped too but good thing I regained balance in a split of a second. PLEASE BE REMINDED OF THIS TO ENSURE GUESTS' SAFETY!

Nice all-inclusive family friendly resort

The facilities are very nice. Thermal pool and ice pool combination is something resetting in Thailand’s weather. Staff is quite kind and attentive.

They need to maintain and clean their air conditioners in the room as they had a specific odor. Also the cleaning of the corner ceilings should be better as we saw some spider webs.

Good but some poor bits

Hotspring pools were great, overall when we visited the hotel it wasn't too busy, so plenty of space around pools. Main poll was good as well. Beach was looking good, but we didn't have much time to spend there The family room was amazing, spacious and clean.

Breakfast wasn't good definitely. Poor selection that repeated daily and only got worse within days that we spent there, like yogurts in fridge run out on day 2… pancakes disappeared on day 3… guy cooking omelets was on the phone constantly. We found a packet of weed hidden under the bed, that was probably from previous visitors, as we did not want to cause trouble for cleaner we just disposed it. Location, middle of nowhere, not even taxis waiting outside hotel. Had to rent a car for 2 days.

Super hot spring pools and great breakfast area but Garden rooms were very stale, tired and outdated

Returned to hotel but stayed in two Garden 'Deluxe' rooms. These were not deluxe - very run down and tired looking rooms with old fittings that were badly in need of repair/updating. Rooms were large which we liked but had a stale damp smell to it. Shower head in both rooms were rusty. Doors had gaps in them so let mosquitoes in. The hotel could be amazing as grounds are beautiful- love the pool area and the hot springs which is the main reason we returned, but it does need some work on the rooms. Breakfast area is great and the food selection was really good.. Last time we stayed in the Grand Sea View rooms which were much better - clean and modern. It was like night and day - If you stay in these rooms you will have a much different experience

We really loved our stay at the Hotspring Beach Resort and will definitely return.

The hotel is situated right on the beach in a beautiful and quiet part of Phang Nga. It's a large property secluded by coconut and palm trees everywhere. The natural hot spring and the cold pool are the highlights and make the hotel unique.

Comfortable stay at a friendly resort.

Breakfast was great with lots of variety, including some vegan options. The room was spacious and comfortable. The grounds were glorious to wander round. Staff were friendly and attentive.

The pool area was very busy with day guests, but after their buses left it was lovely and peaceful. The gym was vey dated and unused including rusty equipment and not very clean. Food at the Thai restaurant was average.

Not a five star, would not recommend

The hotspring pool and corresponding cold pool was a good experience, and the saving grace of the location. The reception staff were friendly and spoke good English. The seaview rooms were nice, clean and comfortable.

Let me just preface this with the I don't do reviews very often... Only when experiences far exceed my expectations... Or when they far underwhelm... I'm afraid to say that overall the experience was not good at the hotspring spa and resort.. While this resort may have once been a 5 star hotel, it's standards must have fallen far below this mark, and in several areas. Bad experiences tend to hyper focus my sensitivity to other misgivings or poor service quality, so as one thing goes wrong I start to notice more and more things wrong with the hotel. I'll attempt to summarize my experience here. While the reception staff were friendly and spoke good English, the majority of the rest of the staff seemed completely untrained and spoke zero English. Many (but not all) were shockingly unfriendly, unattentive, very slow and downright rude. A key interaction I had early on in a toilet was a member of staff asking if he could get a cigarette off me?! I really don't think that is appropriate behavior in a 3 or 4 star, let alone 5 star! This gave an early indication of the lack of staff training and was not a good early sign... And it unfortunately seemed to snow ball from there. Ultimately I feel that the interaction with staff is what makes a resort. Irrespective of services available, the quality of the staff can make any star rated resort appear much better or much worse. Another area, which I don't think is the full responsibility of the hotel, but do contribute to the experience, are the guests. During our 1 night stay the hotel seemed to be exclusively populated with groups of Chinese and Russian, some of which were very rude. Bus loads of more Russians also arrived in the mornings to gain pool access to the hot springs (there are day passes available to people not staying in the hotel). We had our swims early and late to avoid these crowds. The overall food was ok.

I thought the parking was a bit unclear. It would be good if there were a designated parking area with clearly marked places for parking our car. Otherwise, things were great.
