Gram Bangla Retreat

It's a very green place with a lot of trees and plants. A good place to escape city life for a few days. They even have a small pond at their property where you can fish. When I had visited, that had just opened their swimming pool. If your idea of relaxation is swimming under trees, this would be perfect for you Location is quite convenient as it is around an hour's drive from Kolkata. Cabs are available from the area back to the city at a slightly higher price. Food was really good, though slightly on the expensive side.

There isn't much to do at the place. The property isn't big enough to walk around it and much of it is still being constructed. There's a common room but it was largely taken over by an exhibition when I had visited so that felt like a wasted opportunity because it meant I had only my room to spend time in. The pictures also didn't match the property as I saw it. Clearly they're undergoing a lot of construction and much of the original plot is being remade.
