Villa Bruni/Casina

Absolutamente todo. Perfecta ubicación para recorrer el Salento. Nos sentimos unos reyes. El lugar es cómodo, grande , la parrilla y la zona del jardín cómoda también para cenar , tiene absolutamente todo lo que puedas necesitar. Hermosamente decorado, la vajilla divina. El wifi andaba perfecto. Estuvimos 6 días y con muchas ganas de quedarnos más Tiempo. Matteo es atento , amable , siempre a disposición. Amamos quedarnos. Volveremos cada vez que vayamos al Salento. Ya extraño !!

What a gem we found in Monteroni di Lecce! When we arrived we saw a beautiful huge old villa where the restoration was still in progress.Then the owner came and led us to the backside of the villa. A paradise appeared. A beautiful garden with a nice covered terrace with barbecue area. The house we stayed in is part of the villa, construction of which started in 1890. The part used to be a stable and is beautiful restored with eye for detail. Sitting inside we were very much aware of the history of the building. If only walls could talk... The house itself is very well equipped. And I can imagine sitting in the garden on long summer nights enjoying the calm atmosphere. Unfortunately it was March when we were there, but with 18°C it was lovely to sit outside in the morning and afternoon. The area near Lecce was perfect. We visited Lecce, Gallipolli, Otranto and Santa Maria de Leuce. In the near area are good restaurants. The cherry on the cake was the contact with the owners. Such a lovely, kind and caring couple. Using a translator app we had very nice conversations and a lot of fun. Andare via è morire un po'. When we left we already longed to come back. If we do, we know where to stay. It was really a wonderful unit: a converted barn that has been fully remodeled very tastefully with all the modern conveniences. It was probably he most comfortable stay of our entire trip.

The location was a bit daunting because it's quite a way out of town from Lecce, which we didn't realize when booking it. However, we had a car (which was an absolute necessity to stay here) and the drive was not unreasonably long. It was was a good staging location for our day trips further south from Lecce.
