Blue Lily Bungalow

It is obviously a loved property with homely comforts and touches, including a very well equipped kitchen which wa great. It felt really private with a beautiful outlook and super close to Katoomba shops (2 min drive). The lounge room with fire and comfy large leather couch was ideal for cosy family down time. Love that we could take our dog.

I contacted the property to see if it was possible to check in a little earlier but was told it wasn’t possible which was fine. We arrived at 3pm check in time and it was still being cleaned. We had to kill time with kids and dog for over an hour which was frustrating and disappointing - being able to check in on time is a minimum expectation. When I contacted the property to see if we could have a late check out to balance it out they said no. The property management was impersonal and uncaring which is the opposite of most other Airbnb experiences.

No communication from owner. We sent several messages to check out late and no replies

no code was sent had to ring on arrival but couldn't talk to anyone left a message and someone finally replied.

The balcony was nice and protected from the wind. Kitchen was nice and new

There was black mould in the main bedroom around and on the sliding door and window. There were way too many emails sent which bordered on stalking. Too many rules and felt like we were in a prison rather than a relaxing weekend when we are continually reminded of the over the top rules. The ridiculously high surcharge for paying on card which obviously we need to do when booking online. The $300 refundable bond that we actually had to pay rather than a holding deposit. The advertised price should include everything as it made a substantial difference to the overall price. Also didn’t like the photos of the owners throughout the place, a bit weird really.
