Beautiful Bungalow Maspalomas Lago

The apartment is in a holiday complex Lago, though currently most of the apartments are permanently inhabited by elderly people from northern Europe, so the complex is quiet and peaceful. There’s a quite large swimming pool and a small one for children, but no bar or restaurant. In front of the complex there are public parking places available, while if one comes by public transport then bus stops for buses coming to/from Las Palmas and the airport are few minutes away. A former shopping centre Fero 2 is just few minutes away. It’s mostly abandoned and looks like a good spot for urbex explorers, but there are still open: a small supermarket, a “Chinese” shop with “everything” and like two restaurants. The apartment is modern, not that big, but sufficient for a short stay. It consists of a living room (with a sofa, a coffee table and a TV) with a kitchenette, a larger bathroom with a double bed (and a big wardrobe) and a smaller one with a single bed (but no wardrobe), plus a decent bathroom with a shower. In the kitchenette there’s a cooker, a microwave oven, a toaster, a kettle and a Nespresso coffee machine. Necessary post, dishes and cutlery are provided. The living room is air-conditioned, but other rooms are not. There’s a large terrace with a big dining table and sunbeds. One the terrace there’s an enclosed compartment with a wash machine. The apartment is in the “first line” of apartments so with the pool view from the terrace. The communication with the person managing the apartment was rally good, before the arrival sent us necessary instructions and during our stay was responding quickly to our queries and concerns.

The main challenge that we faced were cockroaches. When I woke up the first night, I encountered several of them across the apartment. We informed the managing person, and he responded quickly by bringing some traps and spray against them. It helped a bit, but still every night I could spot one or two, mainly in the bathroom, suggesting they must be having a point of entry somewhere there. As for the apartment’s equipment, what I missed was an oven (probably a microwave could be replaced by a combo) and a dishwasher. An A/C in the bedroom could be also desired. Regarding the complex the challenge is that the swimming pool is open only till 18 o’clock, so if one comes back in the early evening and would like to refresh after a warm day then it’s not possible. As for the location, the main challenge is that it’s quite away from the beach, at least 45 min of walking, so if one plans to visit the beach often it may be a bit challenging without a car or other means of transportation.

Host was helpful and very responsive throughout out stay, couldn't ask for a better host. Key codes were sent well before we got to the property so there was no worry or stress.

Everything was fab

Bungalow located in an ideal spot on the development. Quiet sun deck and eating area as you step outside the bungalow doors, and great pool area literally a stones throw away. Bed extremely comfortable and lots of wardrobe space/hangers. Kitchen well equipped with everything you need for eating in. Good shower room and plenty of towels and hot water. We would definitely stay again!

Nothing not to like about the property itself. Location wise, for me, it is a little far outside the areas we chose to eat/shop. We like Melonaras so it was a 45 min walk or a bus/cab/car ride away. This is a personal “slight negative” and the only thing I can think of as a “not to like” if you were to visit this area of Maspalomas. It would not stop us from returning!
