Just a few minutes’ walk from our vacation rental, one parking space per apartment is available for your free use. You can load and unload your luggage right in front of the door. Additionally, Wi-Fi is included in the apartment rate; you’ll receive the login details upon arrival if you request them.
The vacation apartments are modernly furnished, and a subtle color scheme creates a pleasant, cozy atmosphere during your stay with us. The interior of the apartments has been selected with great attention to detail and leaves nothing to be desired. The furniture is comfortable and color-coordinated. The apartments on the first and second floors feature a spacious, natural-light-filled bathroom with a bathtub and an additional bathroom with a toilet and a walk-in shower. Tasteful fixtures, clean lines, and an earth-tone color scheme in the bathrooms invite you to linger and relax. The attic apartment features a bathroom with natural light, which is also equipped with a walk-in shower and toilet and creates a warm, inviting atmosphere with its soothing color palette. The kitchens in all vacation apartments are equipped to a high standard and offer plenty of space for cooking and dining together. Let yourself be inspired by regional dishes or prepare your own favorite meals.
From our historic half-timbered house, our guests can see and experience the Harz Mountains at their best. When looking out the bedroom windows, you can see the Kohlmarkt and the activity surrounding the Löwenbräu restaurant, which serves regional dishes. This gives visitors a first impression of Wernigerode’s beautiful old town and warmly invites them to explore it. Additionally, the window front facing the inner courtyard—where the bathrooms and kitchens of the guest apartments are located—offers a wonderful view of Wernigerode Castle (except from the Rathaus vacation apartment). You’ll experience a particularly impressive panorama during summer evenings, when the castle is bathed in warm sunlight and emerges from the treetops of the coniferous forest. Even in the snowy season, Wernigerode Castle reveals its winter charm and entices visitors out of their cozy accommodations.
THE CHRISTMAS MARKET…
At the end of November each year, the gates of the Wernigerode Christmas Market open—one of the most popular markets in the Harz region. The historic half-timbered houses blend picturesquely into the wintry landscape and create a cozy atmosphere. String lights, the pleasant scent of pine needles, and fresh fir branches accompany visitors through the old town, which is bathed in a warm, inviting glow. Beautiful spacious apartment of high quality and extremely well maintained. Everything looked absolutely brand new. Very comfortable beds. The property was spotlessly clean. The property is brilliantly located just off the centre of the town with a personal parking spot around the corner. We received a great welcome from the family who also answered all our queries helpfully and quickly. The town itself is also gorgeous and we think the best location for exploring the Harz mountains. We strongly recommend this property. A big thank you to the Heckl family and a special thank you to their grand daughter Neele who helped with some translation to English for us.
