Great house and location but a few things need immediate improvement and attention.

Lovely furniture and location

Shower in en suite bedroom is extremely loud and will wake the whole house up, heating not warm enough and turns off at night. We were having trouble sleeping because of the cold. No basic supplies provided like salt or tea or coffee or kitchen roll. Wifi very low and unusable.

We had a great time but it could have been better

Nice location but from the picture it looks like you are on your own, but there is a property adjacent and people were often walking passed our front window to get to the adjacent cottaage.

The instructions in the manual said the heating was controlled via the thermostat in the living room but it went on and off at its own accord so we suspect that it was controlled remotely. It was very cold during our stay in the area due to the weather conditions but on the second evening it warmed up. There was also a lot of light bulbs not working. The fire did not appear to work and when I moved it there was a dead shrew underneath it. You may want to instruct your staff to remove that as I would not.

Beautiful cottage!l, definitely stay again!

The cottage was in a great location only a few minutes walk along the road into Ambleside. It’s stunning and peaceful and a beautiful place. We loved the interior and it really felt like home.

A few of the beds were a little uncomfortable but some of them were great!

Lakes district getaway

We loved the house and the babbling brook nearby, the window seats and spacious area downstairs & well equipped kitchen . Convenient proximity of the town so nice walks. Central location for exploring the lakes district.

Unfortunately we had 2 very elderly ladies who found the stairs a challenge and would of appreciated a downstairs toilet. Was hard to adjust the showers. We couldn't get the dryer to work. And thought strange had to bring tea towels. As overseas visitors didn't carry them. ( Did read the fine print)

Great location, and lovely comfortable property

Poor kitchen facilities - the oven and airfryer were great to have but there were hardly any utencils. Bit disappointing.

Amble in Ambleside

Cottage was lovely. Nicely decorated and very comfortable. Good location, equidistant to Rydal and Ambleside. The shower was great, really powerful and hot.

Only one section of the oven worked however there was also a microwave and microwave oven as well as an air fryer. It would have been useful to been advised of this at the outset. Whilst most things were immaculate, one of the lounge blinds needs looking at, or a note suggesting it doesn't get closed.

The location and the exterior of the cottage

The filth, the two leaking ceilings, the dirty , old ,ill equipped kitchen, the exposed outside meter box with mains cable running through, the unusable filthy washing machine, the clothes dryer that doesn’t work, the shower and pipes and taps that scream when turned on, the kitchen tap with no washer , moulding rotting shower curtain, the bathroom sink with no plug, the rotting windows , the dirty grimy fridge with no door shelf to stand milk, juice or any bottles in , the complete lack of cleaning equipment, bin bag or dishwasher tabs, the attitude of the owner when called 15 minutes into our arrival . I asked if perhaps there had been a problem as the cottage hadn’t been ready for our arrival . The response was ‘well what do you think is missing?’ Realised quickly that complaining further was pointless and would ruin the limited amount of time I had with our family. My Father & his wife who had made the trip from Australia .

Loved the location. Lots of great walks

The door in the one bedroom didn’t shut properly, there was water coming through the ceiling in the kitchen from the on suite bathroom. Which was reported on the night it happened. But I would stay again the problems are just maintenance issues

Great Location and Spacious House

Great property a short walk into Ambleside, spacious with four rooms and two bathroom ideal for a family/friends. Comfy and well kept, clean. Good for walks in the area and lovely lounge/kitchen for large gatherings. Other reviews were negative but found this property great.

The kitchen isn't very well stocked with equipment etc. and the AGA oven takes some getting used to, put it on and expect to wait

Good location - Only 5 min from Ambleside town centre. Very spacious property and warm.

I was happy with everything really, but if I was being picky I’d of liked some coffee and tea to be available (just the sachet type would have been nice).

Lovely cottage!

Really lovely cottage a little outside Ambleside. I read a few bad reviews beforehand but was pleasantly surprised by how nice to house is. it was warm and cosy when we arrived, and the house stayed warm the whole stay. The beds are comfortable, everything worked in the kitchen and bathroom. There is a bathtub so that is a plus with kids. There is enough hot water for everyone (even after baths). The furnishings are in good condition and nicely decorated. it’s also close to a few trails. We really had a lovely time as a family.
