Grapetree Bay Hotel and Villas

Grapetree Bay Hotel is my go-to location for local and remote work. The internet works well, and I can submit my electronic reports with ease. The staff is wonderful at Grapetree Bay, and the breezes this time of year are so lovely!

Shower water could have been a little warmer.

Great location

No real issues

Excellent position, near the start of the trail to beautiful Jack’s and Isaac’s beaches. Martha’s Fancy Path leads over the hill to the beach on the north side of the promontory, then links to a circuit back to the hotel via point Udall. Stunning views. Excellent staff. All very friendly and helpful. Welcome and pleasant pool area. Nice room (Villa 1) with a ground level terrace looking directly onto the stony shore and sea, almost opposite the point where the pelicans like to fish. Great sunsets. Extensive murals by local artist Barbara. Live music some evenings (we enjoyed singing and guitar playing by the accomplished Adrian Rogers).

Food and drinks expensive by European (but not USVI) standards. Very few guests during our stay in late November, so slightly lacking in atmosphere. But the attentive staff did their best to make up for this.

Location, view, food and staff were great! Give it high marks in these areas!

The room had issues. It was beautiful, but we had a problem with roaches in the kitchenette. The room temperature was like being in a refrigerator and the tile floors were freezing. When we tried to make it warmer, we had to deal with massive condensation which made the beautiful tile floors slippery and dangerous. Also, the beach is very small and rocky with high waves, so we couldn't swim or walk much.
