la Ferme du Grand Bois

J'ai grandement apprécié mon séjour à la Ferme du Grand Bois. J'ai réservé aux Rives de la DIVE pour une nuitée d'étape sur la route vers mon lieu de vacances mais je serais bien restée plus longtemps vu la qualité de l'accueil. Arrivée dans un village au calme, accueillie par les chats et le chien de la maison qui m'a fait fête puis par Patrick et Patricia, les hôtes du gite dont j'ai pu apprécier la gentillesse et l'humanité tout au long de mon (court, voir top court) séjour dans ce cadre très agréable. Le logement a répondu à mes attentes : La chambre spacieuse et fraiche malgré la chaleur extérieure, le lit moelleux (attention, pas mou) et la salle de bain. Le petit déjeuner les a largement dépassées : thés, très bon café, lait, jus de fruit, pains, beurre, confitures maison, miels, viennoiseries, fruits frais de saison et de la région voir du jardin ! Quant à l'accueil, c'est le top : Patricia et Patrick sont attentionnés et aux petits soins pour vous, comme pour leurs hôtes à 4 pattes :). C'est un plaisir de discuter ensemble. Bref, si vous boudez le petit déjeuner après une bonne nuit de sommeil, et n'aimez ni les animaux ni les humains , passez votre chemin. Sinon, vous avez trouvé la bonne adresse.

Patrick et Patricia sont des personnes formidables, ils sont attentionnés et soucieux du bien être de leurs hôtes. Ils sont très accueillants et disponibles.

Plentiful breakfast with a huge choice and variety which changed daily and was freshly prepared by Patricia. There were home made jams, daily fresh baguettes and croissants from the local Boulangerie, toast ( English style,) fruit and natural yoghurts, fresh fruit salad (curtesy of Patricia) choice of butters, teas, coffees and orange juice. Set in a beautiful unique and modernised character barn with welcoming woodburner and 2 hugely attentive and friendly hosts. Patrick who spoke good English and cat loving Patricia, french born and bred, whose attention to detail and creative artistic style could be seen throughout, including our comfortable 2 bedroom Gite. The large "Jungle" themed bedroom, complete with monkey lights and bedside tables just has to be seen. Together with really comfortable beds what more could you possibly want for a memorable stay in France ?

The hosts, Patricia and Patrick were so kind and welcoming. We only stayed for one night but it was wonderful. We checked in early to have a break from a long drive and we were welcomed and had drinks in the garden. They recommended a lovely afternoon visit for us and we had drinks in the garden in the evening. The rooms were so comfortable with everything we could possibly need. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had a lovely view of the garden and fields beyond. The breakfast was incredible with fresh local produce and homemade preserves. Patricia and Patrick even packed us a picnic. They couldn't have been more kind or generous. Our daughters also loved the house rabbit, guinea pigs and friendly puppy. The location is quiet, rural and we even saw a deer in the field behind the garden. Thank you Patricia and Patrick, it was perfect and was a wonderful addition to our travels in France.
