Station House

Excellent decor, quality furnishings, quiet location and attention to detail with a lovely welcome pack. The outside had a a lovely space with a variety of seating. A superb place to stay!

Perfect for 2, big enough and well equipped to self cater and cook properly, private location, perfect spot in small village with just the right amount of amenities in walking distance - butcher, green grocer, small supermarket/convenience store, coffee shops and restaurants. And only an 8 mile cycle into Durham along the old railway - which we did on 2 days

Nothing really that I can think of

The photos don’t do it justice. As it’s been converted from a train station building it’s been well thought out. Its location is in the centre of the village but yet it’s very peaceful. (Our stay was Sunday to Wednesday and the old train track is now a walk/ cycle route and I think bridlepath.) The decor was tasteful. Bed was comfortable. Shower was large enough bend down and touch your toes. Plenty of hot water. Breakfast ingredients were mainly locally sourced and very tasty. The owner was lovely. Couldn’t do enough for us. Plenty of space for parking. If we are ever visiting that way in the future we would definitely stay again.

Nothing, it met every one of our needs. Could not find fault anywhere.

Daryl couldn’t have been more accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was perfect. Station House is stunning and 10/10. Attention to detail spotless. The village has everything you need. So many places to eat to choose from. Very peaceful and lovely walking in the area too.

Couldn’t fault a thing. Just perfect.
