Colonial Charm in Antigua - women only

This is a charming relatively quiet place to stay and relax, away from the centre of Antigua and yet walkable into the centre. There are local stores and amenities and the shopping mall and supermarket are only 10 minutes walk away. The views are lovely from the terrace, facing East and the road outside is quiet. The room was very comfortable, clean and well-equipped with hot water, a good shower, TV, fridge and coffee maker. Use of the outdoor kitchen was a great bonus.

Really lovely room with a great balcony. Excellent value. Room is spacious, great en suite bathroom and kitchen facilities. WiFi is good and there’s a desk space for working. Helpful hosts. Would have stayed longer if it had been available.

As a solo female traveller it was a little far out of the town centre so had to get taxis when it was dark and walk down a busy road to get in to the centre in the daytime. If you’re two people staying together then I think it would be fine to walk home at night. Two cute dogs at the property. I love dogs so not a problem for me. Although I did step in some dog poo in the garden!

I feel like I got the best deal in Antigua! The space is huge, clean and with a beautiful view. I loved the outdoor kitchen. Family was great and gave me space.

Tegenvaller dat er alleen contant kon worden betaald, waardoor een ongemakkelijke situatie ontstond met derden omdat de contactpersoon niet aanwezig was. Ik ben 2 x benaderd of ik het resterende deel wilde betalen. Gaf geen goed gevoel. De hygiëne kan beter en ook het keukengerei. Het is een zelfstandige ruimte, maar wel in een privéwoning. Je moet door de woning heen om bij de kamer te komen. Bovendien hoor je alle geluiden van het gezinnen de 2 honden..vanaf 6 uur in de ochtend. Locatie is prima, maar het is niets voor mij. Ben een dag eerder vertrokken dan gepland. Men is vergeten te vermelden dat naast de woning een restaurant is waar regelmatig harde muziek wordt gespeeld.
