The room was very nice. Obviously recently renovated. Great location VERY near the harbour. Quick walk over to see the Spirit of Tasmania ship dock and depart. Lovely, very helpful staff. Sufficient restaurants were within easy walking distance. There was a very nice walkway that went along the river. There was also, right across from the apartments, a "laser light show" about the history of Devonport and its relationship with the First Nation people. Nice music, good lights, and a very interesting story.
The entry to our unit was down an alley, through a big metal gate to the parking garage. Once you got used to it, no worries, but it was a bit off putting at first. The hall lights were automatic, which was nice most of the time, but were less nice in the middle of the night when you got up, went into the hall, and the flood lights came on and woke your partner up who was in bed sleeping. Need the ability to cut off the automatic lights at night. The view from our room was of an abandoned car mechanic shop. Not great....but we'd still stay at Merseybank if we came to Devonport again. The good far outweighed the slightly bad.

Great location close to supermarkets, eateries, restaurants, mall, foreshore and Spirit of Tasmainia ferry. Large 1 bedroom apartment with secure parking.
Sensor lighting in hallway kept flicking on when sitting in the very uncomfortable recliners, which gave us stiff necks and back soreness (would have preferred a couch). Wall mounted TV was too high to view comfortably. There was no floor lamp and the pot lights had to be on all the time even though half weren't working.
The bed was as hard as rock and although the bathroom was huge, it lacked a shower enclosure or curtain, allowing water to splash across entire bathroom floor. To add to this, the ceiling exhaust fan didn't work very well and floors became slippery due to excess condensation
