The area was nice and quite , it’s uphill keep in mind if you have lots of luggage. We were lucky to have a parking spot right outside the apartment! The room is out dated but it’s comfortable and big has Netflix and YouTube
Sadly the smell of tobacco inside the house. It smelled as if someone smoked in the house before we arrived.

Location is good. Close walk into the main town. The room we had was spacious.
The whole place stunk of cigarette smoke pretty much the entire time (as per the other reviews), making the air very stale in the communal areas. It’s difficult to know how many other guests are staying, making the shared bathroom/toilet situation hard to navigate. I would also say the bedroom didn’t feel that secure (someone tried to come into our locked room twice without knocking).

Inside was quite quiet and the bathroom was very spacious and clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
The property is very tired (everything quite worn, and the bedroom could have been cleaner). The sheets were horrible- very synthetic and actually shiny, and the owners were smoking in the property (not in the shared space, but it comes through). The property is close to the centre of town, but at the top is a very big hill, so if you’re not fit and able, this could be a problem for you. There’s no air conditioning so the windows needed to be left open, and it backs onto a very noisy parking lot- I was awoken many times both nights I stayed there. Overall it was a functional place to stay, but I didn’t think it was good value for the price.

Very nice and helpful host.
Very old interior, the windows of my room face the street

Nice and comfortable accommodation in a handy location, an easy walk down to the old town/port area, but on the edge of the modern commercial zone too. Vincenzo is a great host, very accommodating and helpful, offering plenty of information on the city (including very well detailed maps and photos to help you get around, otherwise Genoa can be confusing!) and easy to contact at any time. Thanks for a great stay!
I had to rearrange the furniture a bit to have a workable desk space in the room, which isn't a huge deal. I guess the bathroom is a bit removed from the room, and probably no enough for the multiple rooms if they're all full. But while I was there it was fine! Also I guess the key situation could be confusing for some people, but again it worked fine while I was there, and I had no issues!

The host was amazing truly. Even though he doesn’t speak English he communicated very effectively using translators. He was super nice and always eager to help and recommend places to visit in Genova and around. He even made a little guide about Genova and villages surrounding the town. Don’t be shy to ask him anything about the city on WhatsApp. He also usually responds really fast.
The location is pretty great, located on one of the beautiful hills surrounding the city (personally my favorite part of the city). It’s kind of on the upper part of a steep hill but from the house you can use a lift the get to the top where a bus (36) goes and can take you to all the most important places. From the bottom of the hill you can take the Sant'Anna funicular to the top.
Great little area with all kinds of snacks that you can eat in the lobby. Coffee machine, microwave, fridge.
Stunning building, the stairway was amazing to look at.
The bathroom was clean and quite big, with many different shampoos and body washes for you to choose from
The lock to our room was kinda hard to use but we got used to it pretty quick.
There was some hair on the bed lamp.

the host was very kind and told us what to look at Genoa. Also there was a big selection of shampoos for a person with long hair that was a lifesaver.
You have to remember that this is a room in a flat and that you live with other people, but for me that didin't bother me. And there wasn't an AC but we had a fan in our room.

The host was the best. He explained us everything about the room and then gave us a free guide about the city. There is everything that you need about your stay in Genova. Follow it and you won't be disappointed ;). The room was clean, perfect for one -two nights stay .

The hostal is located nearby all touristic places and the site itself looks like a palace. Really nice to see as everything in Genoa

The location is very good, easily reachable by public transportation. The host is so kind and so helpful.
The price should be a bit lower for the quality, compared to a night for two in a hotel.

The house where the hostel’s located is interesting by itself. Each time we entered it, I couldn’t resist looking upwards to see the paintings on the ladders. The host was nice, gave us some tips how to get around and some destinations to visit. Although he didn’t speak English, we managed easily with google translate. Hot water, coffee machine, fridge, soft bed, towels - all you generally need is available. The room and facilities were really clean
The windows are looking at a busy street, traffic is very well heard till the late night. We’re not really sensitive to noise so it wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s something to be aware of. Air conditioning - fan))

Good location, few minutes walking from city centre.
Clean and very big room with 2 fans to cool down, TV, towels and clean lineen. Not noisy with closed windows (in summer it's best to keep them closed anyway)
Bathroom, fantastic shower with shower gel shampoo and hairdryer.
Coffee and some biscuits available for free , definitely deserved a tip!
Enzo is available and polite.
Available parking for scooters
Fantastic price/quality ratio
1.50 euro per person per night as fee, totally affordable.
Nothing, just not Italian style and rooms a bit naked, not cozy.
If you have a car parking can be quite expensive.

The host was very nice, the room and shared bathroom were good for a night, the location in the town is pretty good to enjoy a famous point of view. It is a very good plan to discover the town with a small budget.
the mat was a bit too soft but it's ok for a night and it was not easy to park a car due to a huge amount of car in the town, so come by train :)

Friendly owner, quiet, excellent for the price. Highly recommended if you don't need or want standardized hotel chains which look everywhere the same. The building is old and beautiful! In the public area is a kettle for tea and a capsule coffee machine (donation based), which is great! Thanks fir the hospitality!
All good - it's not the cleanest space but clean enough, specially considering the low price.

The owner doesn’t speak English but we were communicating via messages and auto translation tools and that worked out fine. The room we slept in was tidy. The building itself is stunningly beautiful and located just a few minutes away from the city centre.

Vincent is a nice guy. He was ready to accommodate me on a couple of different things when I got there. I had a room that was a little bit isolated, with a little hall and extra doors our the front, so I had peace and quiet most of the time. The location was pretty good. The main bus and train area is a 15-20 minute walk away, and there are smaller bus stops very close.
The mattress was a little uncomfortable due to it being so soft that I could feel the base of the bed while lying on it.
It wasn't possible to power the TV, due to the cable type and even if it had been, there was no remote. I booked 7 days and the TV that was advertised was part of my reason for booking.

Enzo was very friendly and easy to communicate with which was important as we are English speaking guests. He used his translator app or SMS.
The room was freezing cold and the heating was not working which was not noted in the listing. Instead we were given extra blankets which did nothing for the room temperature.
Unfortunately we had the unpleasant experience of the lady host who did not give her name screaming at us in Italian and intruding into our private room without asking when I was resting. The heaters had started coming on hence the yelling although she refused to speak slower or into a translator so we had no idea what she was yelling about. Enzo was very apologetic for her actions however this did not solve the lack of heat nor the lack of comfort and privacy we should have had staying here as paying guests.

Great stay for a single night visit to Genoa. Had everything I needed and on a very cute street

Such great value and a great location! The room was a really good size with double windows and a salt lamp. For budget accommodation it was really everything I needed. Vincenzo was nice and accommodated me when i wanted to stay an extra night. He doesn't speak much English but he used a voice translation app which made things easy. Better though if you SMS him rather than call, if you need. Close to a really yummy pizza place Pizzeria Acquarone and the owners recommended Cavour modo21 to me which was so good!!!
The living area does smell a bit like cigarette smoke. It didn't bother me, and I just hung out in my room anyway. but if you're sensitive to that, maybe it's something to note.
