It was warm and cosy and the bedrooms were lovely and comfortable. The dryer was great for those rainy days. Nice to have the paid tv options for evening entertainment.

The showers weren’t perfect as one would go hot and cold and the one in the laundry needs the shower head replaced. But everything else was great otherwise 😊

The location is great—right next to a beautiful beach on a quiet street, and only about a 25–30 minute drive from Auckland city center. Plus, there’s free private parking, and we had no trouble fitting two cars inside.

The apartment didn’t quite live up to our expectations, especially given its high rating of 9 on Booking.com and the price. While the basic cleaning was done okay, the place really needs some renovation and care to match the photos online. There were several small issues: • Black spots from moisture were visible on the ceiling and around the fan in the bathroom. • The blind was rusting, and the showerhead arm was damaged, with the holder unable to secure it properly. • One of the downstairs bedrooms was very dark due to a small, obscured window. The old doors sometimes opened by themselves due to the wind unless locked, and we had to wedge paper in the door to keep it closed. • The pans were severely damaged, so we bought a new one for our stay and left it at the apartment. • The toilet rooms were very small, and the doors opened inward, making it a bit of a “twister game” to get out. Overall, the apartment was satisfactory, and these issues didn’t ruin our stay—we still had a great time. However, it didn’t meet the high expectations we had based on the listing.
