We loved the staff and the location. The staff were so friendly and always willing to help us out with anything.
Nearby to all the restaurants and bars without being right in the middle of it.
Love the decor of the hotel and the cleanliness of the rooms. It was nice that they had a pool.
Beds very comfortable and the AC was excellent.
Breakfasts were delicious.
Welcome drink was a nice touch and it was so good.
The King bungalow is small, which isn't normally a problem but the issue is that there is no surface or space to put your suitcase or clothes. Suggestion: the hotel provide 2 suitcase stands per room and bedside tables, since there are no shelves really or drawers. It would be fine for 2 days but we were there for a week.
There is no real seating around the pool so a comfy chair or 2 would help.
Breakfast is "included" but the choices are very limited and you have to pay extra for other choices and only get one coffee included, which was again, only good for a short stay.

I loved my stay at Raiz Hotel Boutique! The staff were so friendly and attentive, the food was AMAZING, it was quiet but centrally located at La Punta - just a few minute walk from the beach, and fun restaurants and cafes. The vibe was chill - and everyone was lovely. I'd definitely stay again.
There was a weird situation with the water in the shower - and I think they need to provide more towels or fix the water so it doesn't leak everywhere in the bathroom.

The Guacamole is fine but the food is unnecessarily expensive
It's quite isolated. The beach is a 10-minute walk, but the center of Puerto Escondido is only reachable by a 50-minute walk along the beach or by expensive taxi. A few nearby restaurants, but not many. The roads are dirt tracks full of holes — difficult and unsafe if you have any mobility issues.
The place feels neglected. Lobby pillows were dirty, parasols broken, and thatched roofs falling apart. The common area has a sand floor with sand fleas biting your legs — not pleasant for relaxing. The pool is small, only really usable for 1–2 people. The overall atmosphere feels worn and closed off.
Service:
Check-in was friendly and included a welcome drink — though we had to ask for it. Next to standard breakfast we ordered guacamole with homemade tacos (delicious). Free yoga is advertised, but only at 8:00 am — and the instructor leaves early since no one shows up at 8 o'clock. Feels like a box-checking offer rather than a real amenity.
Breakfast:
Just okay. Only one drink included (juice or coffee). Extra drinks cost a lot more, which feels stingy given the room rates and doesn’t make you feel welcome.
Rooms:
Simple but comfortable. Strange design: sliding roomdoors are misaligned and part of the doorframe was cut out to allow the key to fit. Functional, but awkward and clearly a poor fix.
Service:
We booked 5 nights but chose to leave early due to the overall discomfort. We tried to reach a fair compromise with the hotel but were met with zero flexibility and cold, unkind service from the owner. Luckily, Booking.com stepped in and helped us resolve the issue more than fairly after trying it by ourselves, special thanks to Booking!
We’ve booked many of hotels all over the world — Japan, Russia, Taiwan, Italy, Norway, Indonesia, USA, Canada, Brazil, Senegal, Uruguay, and many more — and never shortened a stay until now.
The hotel is NOT in Puerto Escondido > Tip, watch Google Streetview and you will know it all...

Great location and very comfy room
Noisy nights and small pool
10.0 / 10.0
The pool, the staff, the breakfast included, the bar and food and the whole setting.
Initially thought it may be a bit expensive, especially compared to other hotels but a good hotel is crucial as it gets extremely hot in PE. You need a pool and somewhere comfortable to relax and this was certainly it.

Great room and a nice pool
Towels with stains and holes in

Service was amazing! Everyone was so friendly and accomodating. Away from the Main Street which we liked. We didn’t need to leave the property. Also super close to the beach.
If you like to be apart of the hustle stay a little closer, it’s a short walk to the main part of Puerto.

The hotel has a beautiful tropical feel, the rooms are clean, and the staff were great. A special thank you to Sebastian and Anna, who were so helpful and welcoming. :) The location is good, close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The air conditioning and fan work well in the rooms, which is necessary in the heat.

Fantastic location, great hotel and clean rooms, it is an absolute must to stay here when you're in Puerto Escondido. The staff were all excellent, but a big shout out in particular to Sebastian who was absolutely fantastic throughout our stay! Super friendly and always happy to help, which really helped make our stay as enjoyable as it was

Well located hotel in Punta, far enough removed from the main drag, but close enough to not miss out on any of the action!

Design and decor, location, friendly staff
Didn’t clean rooms properly / replace used glasses in room. Very noisy at night time until around midnight, next to an outdoor club

no breakfast included
Could have been more storage in the apartment

Modern and stylish facilities. Great location in a quiet part of Puerto Escondido, not far from restaurants, bars and shops
The pool doesn’t really have an area where to chill/relax around, therefore you jump in and out (not a big deal but good to know).
Breakfast was great but the service was SO slow (common in Puerto Escondido but this was quite extreme, especially for a hotel)

The location is excellent, its just 2 min away walking from the Main Street where all the restaurants are. The food was amazing, breakfasts, desserts, and the octopus were our favorites.

Breakfast was excellent it just needs more variety but all of the signature drinks are incredible. The place is simple but with great design.
We needed hooks for the towels inside the bedroom and improve internet speed but it’s understandable due to local internet providers.

Amazing welcome cocktail, staff, food, tranquil escape from the heat

the only reason I am not giving this a 1 star is because the staff were great and the food and drinks were great as well. Bed was comfy.
Maybe a nice place to come for dinner but not to stay.
The hotel itself is nice but the rooms do not make sense for the $200 you pay.
They’re really small. There are no blankets- only a sheet. I asked for a thicker blanket but there is none available. The staff are great and gave me another sheet but I would have really liked a proper blanket and with the ac on overnight it gets kinda cold (have to sleep with it on as it’s 30c at night) and it’s nice to have a real blanket. I’m not sure why they don’t have blankets? For a hotel that I’m paying $200 to stay at.. they should have a dang blanket.
Also.. It is very loud! The music from outside on the busy main street of La Punta is so loud and annoying. Horrible top 40’s. Think 50 cent. Blasting at 11pm. The bass just permeates the room.
I even considered just leaving and going to a different hotel but I wouldn’t be able to get a refund so I tried to make it work to no avail.
Also the blinds are completely useless. They are a very sheer piece of fabric and do absolutely nothing to block the light and there are outside lights directly outside the room- so the room is lit up from outside. Again I would expect more from a hotel that costs me $200 a night. Get some blackout blinds- they are not very expensive and needed.
Or give us the option to turn them off ourselves. We don’t even have control over them. This is infuriating.
Trying to sleep here was absolutely useless. With the lack of a blanket, no actual curtains, the very loud music from outside, I do not recommend.
If you want a peaceful night in Mexico where you can get some rest, maybe stay somewhere else.

a design that is really nature-inspired, nice little pool, mangoes literally falling into your hands
if you don’t like insects in the room might not be the best option for you

cute little hut style rooms. staff were really friend and the coffee was amazing. Great Air-con in rooms and just off the main strip so felt quiet but close to everything.
only complaint would be we didn’t get fresh towels during our stay

Very nice staff. A place for people looking for peace and relaxation.

The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and available for question or information. The food was excellent, especially the coconut shrimp with rice! The bed and pillows were comfortable. Having a fan and an air conditioner in room was great.
Bathroom was small. A few nights a week there is a band and party noise from a nearby bar. It does end at 11 but needed earplugs to sleep. The bed is on the floor, not that comfortable to get in/out of. Would have been nice to have a very lightweight blanket over the sheet if room is kept cool with fan and A/C. Porch is not really a porch. We didn't need to spend the money to have this. It would have been nice to have a few hooks on the inside wall to hang towels and suits.

- hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly (speak English fluently & also LGBT friendly). Staff are locals and had great ideas for excursions and things to do in the area
- hotel restaurant had genuine Oaxacan food and great quality (better than able to find in Punta Zicatela, lovely bartender and chefs put great attention and care into the menu -- amazing drink selection ;-D -- worth going to restaurant even if don't stay in the hotel!
- very close to the beach, about 5 min direct walk; also close to main commercial drag on calle Alejandro Cárdenas Peralta; about 15 min walk to the surf/food/lounge area of the beach right at Punta Zicatela, but not difficult at all
- clean rooms & beautiful hotel design and architecture, hotel still feels relaxed and quiet event when full
- not very big deal, but room itself was not so big and while private enough, still had to take care (e.g. shower windows facing right onto public deck, so just keep window closed)
