Coco Rose Apartments

Nice, well equipped kitchen. You dispose of an entire appartment. Quiet area. Supermarket very nearby. Parking no problem.

Upon arrival a bit hard to find without route planner, in particular the quiet street where you should park. It is in fact a residential loop with only one entry from the main road between the supermarket and the rear of the hotel. Not a lot of light in the bedroom. No bedside lamp. You can not sit outside.

Janet (the host) and Jenny (the housekeeper) were so helpful. Lovely people. Beautiful view. The location was good, just a 15 minute walk to the lovely town and beach of Soufriere.

The house manager, Jenny, was very kind and helpful. The apartment is located in a quieter area that has a small town feel. People greet you when you're walking around, there are children playing in the streets, and roosters and goats wandering around. The walk to Bridge Street is easy, about 10-15 minutes depending on your destination. There is a Massy grocery about a 5 min walk. A baker is across the street, so we could smell bread in the morning while drinking our coffee on the porch. The apartment had everything we needed for cooking, which we did one night. The wifi worked well, as did the air conditioners. And there was a washing machine, which was great for us.

I found the mosquitos in the apartment uncomfortable, and had many bites, but my husband had none. This isn’t the owner’s fault, but it’s worth noting that in New Development and other parts of town there are open, deep gutters without guardrails along the streets. If you’re walking at night, you must be careful not to fall in or trip. Also, Soufriere is the land of a thousand roosters, you’ll see and hear them no matter where you stay. They’re part of the charm of the town, but if you have a low tolerance for animals, Soufriere may not be the place for you. (We also stayed in a modern apartment above town and could still hear them there.)
