About this house rental
Situated just north of Haystack Rock, Haystack Close South sits high above the
beach, giving you spectacular panoramic vistas to the west, the north, and the
south.
This classic, quirky,duplex, built in the 1940's, contains 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms,
and can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. You will be awed by gorgeous
panoramic ocean views from just about anywhere in the house. Wander through the
back yard and find a private staircase (shared with the adjacent Haystack Close North),
that will take you directly to the soft sand of Cannon Beach.
Haystack Close South's covered porch, which is shared by the adjoining Haystack Close North, contains a gas BBQ grill, so delicious meals can be accompanied by the rumbling of ocean waves and stunning views of iconic Haystack Rock.
On the first floor, you will find a spacious living room with a large, flat-screen TV, and
gas fireplace to warm you up after hours of beach fun. The dining area and kitchen are
located just off the living room. Please note that the kitchen is a bit outdated, however, it
will meet most of your needs.
Upstairs, you will find all 3 of Haystack Close South's bedrooms, each of which holds a
comfy queen bed, with 2 of the rooms sharing magnificent ocean views. All 3 bedrooms
share easy access to the full, upstairs bathroom which features a claw foot tub — the
perfect place to soak with a sumptuous glass of wine.
While the house is a little funky and parts of it are a bit outdated, it still provides plenty
of space and comfort for a large family. You can even rent out the adjoining, Haystack
Close North, and sleep up to 14 people.

The house it situated right next to Haystack - views from the dining room windows and deck are amazing. We had a great time. One warning - the house only has 1 shower as the upstairs bathroom only has a tub - this required some coordinating as we were 4 people. If you have a larger party and folks do not take baths, this place would be a challenge. Other than that - it was great.

Overall we had a wonderful week, but it does live up to its’ quirky description! The views from the house and back porch were perfect, particularly on the rainiest day! That staircase to the beach was so convenient! The fireplace was cozy and we really enjoyed it in the evenings.
The bedroom doors were noisy, noticeable when we were moving around at night! And we really wished there were 2 showers, the tub was nice, but water wasn’t hot enough for a leisurely bath! A light at the front of the house pointed on the staircase to the car would have been easier than using our phone flashlight! A great stay, but not perfect!

Overall we were all happy, the only issues were the dish washer leaked in the bottom right corner, and there was a bit of a musty smell in the home. We had 5 people staying and there wasn't enough outside chairs for us all to have at the beach because we had neighbors.
