About this cottage rental
Set in a peaceful, rural location on the edge of a tiny village, this well-equipped one-bedroom cottage is set in half an acre (2000m2) of landscaped gardens. Designed specifically as a rustic get-away for couples, it has its own secluded, private garden and terrace complete with BBQ and teak/cane garden furniture. The large (12x5) swimming pool is shared with the owners (an English couple) who live on-site. There is covered parking in a secure, walled courtyard at the front of the owner's house.
The Little House was refurbished in 2021 with new bathroom, along with new bedroom and living room furniture.
Supplies: General supplies like washing-up liquid, clingfilm & kitchen towel are provided, along with a few essentials to get you started - wine, tea, coffee, milk, bread, biscuits etc.
There is a hairdryer (so you don't need to take up luggage space with one!)
The garden: One of the big attractions of this property is its garden which is full of plants and colour. Vines, wisteria, roses, kiwis and campsis trail over shade-providing pergolas and the flower beds are full of interest. Apart from its large swimming pool, the highlight of the garden is its rockery, where a stream runs through a series of waterfalls. The stone-walled, front courtyard is secured by attractive metal gates. Here there is covered parking for 3 cars with plenty of room for other cars elsewhere.
House hunting: The cottage is ideally situated for house hunting across the whole of Istria. The owners, who live on site most of the year, have recently moved to Croatia and are happy to share their house-hunting expertise and put you in touch with reputable local agents, if you should require.
Inside there is a large bedroom with a queen-size bed (160x200 cm), open-plan living room, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The cottage is situated on the edge of the village and surrounded by ancient woodland where it is possible to walk for miles.

This has to be the best equipped and generously provisioned holiday cottage we have stayed in. Everything has been thought of - from swimming towels to beach cushions, a good range of cookware and books to read.
There is a completely private seating area behind the cottage, as well as a lovely porch overlooking the garden, and seating around the pool. The garden is a feature of the property, a beautiful, restful space with an abundance of interesting insects and birds.
Porec is a nice place for a stroll and the Basilica is well worth a visit.
The cottage is well placed in the countryside close to the motorway exit, so ideal for further exploration, and Nicky and Phil are readily available if needed for recommendations and help, whilst happy to leave their guests to enjoy their stay at their own pace.

The Little House is perfectly located for peace and quiet, yet within easy reach of amenities. Very well equipped, stunning gardens and beautiful pool. The hosts were lovely and very helpful. Would definitely stay again, couldn’t fault it.

Exactly what it says on the tin! Perfect little cottage at the bottom of Nicky and Phil's garden with everything needed to make it a home from home. Welcome pack was ideal and more than expected so no need to panic about finding a supermarket before arriving - we had bread, jam, wine, beer, tea, coffee and milk and the kitchen drawers contained matches, cling film and foil etc. There was even a bag of charcoal for the BBQ. The pool was beautifully warm and big enough to feel like you were actually getting some exercise when swimming lengths. If you desire complete privacy you may feel you are too close to the owners house but Nicky and Phil were great at giving advice on where to go, even arranging tickets for us to see Status Quo at the Pula Amphitheatre, and there is a lovely private terrace at the back of the property which catches the afternoon/evening sun. Parking is in secure, gated driveway and there is more than enough to do in the area so would happily have stayed for two weeks. Great file of information on the area as well so you will never be stuck for ideas. Enjoy! We did!
