Holiday Home Cherry Orchard House by Interhome

We were self catering so organised a delivery from Tesco (there were 11 of us - including the children). Lovely location, close to the town and quay. Convenient for a trip to The Eden Project and Pentwen Sands (huge sandy beach with excellent facilities). It is a beautiful house with interesting old features and a lovely terrace and garden.

No basic items were left for us in a 'welcome' pack other than a single black bin liner and a test-tube size quantity of washing up liquid. There were no dishwasher tablets and just 1 toilet roll in each bathroom. There was just one tea-towel per sink. There was very little liquid soap by the sinks as well. If the owners do not feel it appropriate to at least leave a comprehensive starter pack then this should be clearly stated at the booking stage or in a reminder e-mail shortly before the start date. We were fortunately able to get every thing we needed in the town shop, but given the price I had paid for the 4 day rental, I'd have thought it would have covered a few dishwasher tablets, toilet and kitchen rolls etc and I was rather disappointed by this. The instructions relating to rubbish and recycling were inadequate. This needs to be stated much more clearly in the booking terms and conditions - and we certainly needed more bags than the one we were given. There was no washing machine - not an issue for us as we only stayed 4 nights but for a family group our size this would have been a problem for a longer stay. The support from the local agent could have been better, messages were not answered or only a short, sharp response given. I was surprised that the local office was closed on a Bank Holiday as well as every Wednesday. I'm mindful that my 'cons' outweigh the 'pros' in length and detail so I should reiterate that overall we had a lovely time in a beautiful, interesting property so very well located but the above comparatively minor issues did take some of the shine off.

Excellent location-walking distance to harbour and shops/restaurants. Lovely spacious house which was beautifully decorated, very clean and well presented. The terrace and garden were perfect for sitting out in the sunshine

Nothing -just suggestion that an outside umbrella/parasol might been useful for when it’s very sunny sitting outside on the terrace!
