About this cabin rental

Shire is one of four pet-friendly cabins at Forest Villas... a private
4-acre adventure compound a quarter mile from downtown Marienville, PA.
Walk to town in 5 minutes. Throw an axe before dinner. Light the fire pit
when the sun drops, and stay up later than you planned.

Who Shire works for:
- Couples who want a cozy, photogenic getaway
- Small families and pet owners (dogs welcome)
- Outdoor travelers heading to Cook Forest, Allegheny National Forest, or Rails-to-Trails
- ATV, snowmobile, and recreation travelers (room for trucks + trailers)
- Bigfoot Festival weekend visitors looking for walking-distance lodging
- Remote workers who need full cell reception and high-speed Wi-Fi

About Forest Villas:
You're not just renting a cabin... you're staying at a private pet-friendly
adventure compound. Forest Villas sits on 4 wooded acres with on-property
amenities most cabin rentals can't match.

What you get on-property (included with every stay):
- 6-lane axe throwing range (yes, really)
- The world's tallest Bigfoot statue, over 3 stories tall
- 4 acres of private forested trails through pines and hardwoods
- A peaceful pond with cattails
- A tire obstacle course
- Direct access to the Rails-to-Trails path (property runs along it)
- Resident wildlife, including a rare white deer that visits regularly

Inside Shire (510 sqft, well-laid-out):
- Private bedroom with a real closed door and a brand-new luxury queen mattress
- Living room with two leather-look convertible sofa beds (flexible sleeping for 2 more)
- Wood-paneled kitchen with full-size refrigerator, electric stove, and microwave
- Indoor dining nook
- Tiled shower, full bath
- Smart TV with Netflix, Roku, and more
- High-speed Wi-Fi (works for streaming and remote work)
- Full cell reception
- Heat and A/C, linens, pillows, and towels included

Outside your cabin:
- Covered front porch with seating
- Privacy-fenced rear bar patio with a hand-built tree-stump bar table,
metal bar stools, and string lights overhead
- Brick-surround fire pit with bench seating
- Decorative gravel + railroad-tie pathway
- Gravel driveway with 2 dedicated parking spots
- Shared loop drive with neighboring cabins... room for trucks, trailers,
ATVs, snowmobiles, or anything else you're hauling

Within minutes:
- 5-minute walk to downtown Marienville
- 15 minutes to Cook Forest State Park
- Quick access to the Allegheny National Forest
- Walking distance to the Forest County Bigfoot Festival

Pets:
We welcome dogs. $30 non-refundable pet fee per stay. The covered porch
is a great rainy-day spot, and the 4-acre property gives them room to
stretch. Please keep pets leashed.

What to know before booking:
- Cabin is 510 sqft... cozy, efficient, well-laid-out
- Gravel shared driveway (year-round accessible)
- Real closed-door private bedroom (most "1BR" cabin listings in this area
are actually open lofts)
- Quiet, residential feel... no industrial noise
- On-property amenities are shared with the 3 other Forest Villas cabins...
it's a small compound, not a resort

Book Shire for your next Marienville trip. Whether it's a quiet weekend
with the dog, a Cook Forest hiking trip, an ATV weekend, or Bigfoot
Festival lodging... this cabin is built for the slow-down kind of getaway.

Very clean, we loved it.

First and foremost, it was clean, comfy cabin. Not overly private or woodsy, however. Some basic essentials were missing. There were only 5 squares of toliet paper, remote needed new batteries, and the shampoo dispenser was bone dry.It just felt like you are getting a bare bones cabin in a run down town for the price of a good hotel.

Very clean property, delightfully decorated particularly the out of doors. Very cute and inviting. Close to Cooks forest and many hiking trails.

Overall a very nice place to stay. My husband and I were just looking to get away for the first time since having kids so we weren’t looking for anything fancy, just a quiet get away. We really enjoyed being able to take our dog and how simple it was to bring her. The cabin was very clean with the one exception being the dishes. Almost every dish I grabbed to use (coffee mugs, plate, knife) had to be washed before use because they were dirty. The queen bed was very firm, and for us, very uncomfortable. The pull out beds weren’t any better as far as comfort. One other minor complaint was the shower pressure was very poor and there was little soap. The shower had really cool soap dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, but all were empty. We brought our own soap but I wouldn’t advertise a place as fully stocked with amenities when it’s not. One other review noted the dead batteries in the tv remote. We ran into the same issue. We liked the area and had fun hiking in the snow. The cabin did have a cozy vibe and it was really nice walking in to the electric fireplace on and a scent mister running. Brittany also answered my questions timely and thoroughly. One suggestion for the host would be to have welcome instructions in the cabin for how to run the mini split and to explain where to find the trails and activities shown in the pictures. It would have also been nice to have a bigger mat or boot tray inside the door.
