Oaks Retreat was the perfect location for our stay outside of Yosemite National Park. In addition to spending full days in the park, we explored Bear Valley, Coulterville and the surrounding area. Highly recommend the area. The house was clean and comfortable, with "nice to have" items in the house: electronic chargers, reference materials for local establishments and places to explore.

Check in was easy. Had the door code ahead of time. Arrived early to the host finishing up watering the exterior landscape. Walk in to a livingroom/kitchen space. Comfy chairs and couch. A small desk and table. Kitchen had all the basics needed for at least 4 people (our party size). We didn't know if the coffee machine was a pot or a pod. We bought coffee for a pot. Bring pods!Stacking washer/dryer combo which we used while there. Two bedrooms with plenty of closet space. Beds were more than adequate. We spent most of our time out on the patio either talking or eating a meal. Watched the meteor shower when it was dark. Couldn't figure out how to turn off the exterior lights. They must be on a timer.Local information was helpful having ahead of time. The grocery store in Mariposa has reusable bags that you pay for. We left ours for the next guests. The bonus is the farm animals that live across the drive.

We opened the front door and my 19 year old son said "Wow!" It's easy to make anything appear much better in photos but not in this case. The property is clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated with not a single thing out of place. The owner provided information promptly and everything was super easy. Highly recommended.
