Hidden Gem Canal Facing Retreat with lovely walks

The location next to the canal and 10 mins from Drayton manor and the army barracks. Probably the most nicest place on the area. It's very cute. The accommodation has everything, bedding, towels, washing up liquid. We love to cook and the kitchen has everything we needed. There is a few books, toys and colouring books to keep the kids entertained.

You couldn't open the window in the kitchen as the handle had been removed. The bathroom window also was quiet dodgy but this was the only window in that end of the house. It is clear there is a damp issue in the property and this doesn't help. It was so hot the kitchen was unbearable when cooking. Also although it says no dogs upstairs people have been ignoring this. The top bed smelt of wet dog, so much so we could smell it so badly on the kids after the first night. Dogs have clearly been in that bed. Drains seem a problem, and the shower tray builds up. Advice to give 20 mins before anyone else uses a shower or sink to give it time to drain away. Didn't realise it was so close to the road which is very noisy day and night.

The location was superb, many enjoyable and different walks and close to 2 pubs and shops.

Nothing, it was perfect for me

This cottage is in a great place, right beside the canal and within walking distance of 3 pubs, so no problem getting a meal. It had gorgeous vies and lovely walks along the canal. The canal boats and boaties were lovely and very friendly. There was plenty of bird life on the canal and lots of lovely ducklings to fall in love with. The downstairs bathroom was good and it has a nice kitchen and lovely lounge overlooking the canal.

The stairs were very steep to the top floor bedroom and there was only a cold water tap in the ensuite sink. Sadly, we couldn’t use the top floor shower as it was impossible to get the water temperature balance right, so only managed cold showers.
