Revelin Hvar

We are a family of six visiting from the US and after researching several locations on Hvar, we decided upon stari grad for the apparent quaintness and rich history. When stumbling upon Revelin Hvar, we felt like we landed upon a real jewel and wondered if it was too good to be true based on all that was associated with it - historical significance, the natural phenomenon of the camera obscura, and its convenient location. I even sent a follow up email to confirm the reservation because it seemed to good to be legit. We loved our stay and left feeling that we indeed stayed at a gem. Wendy, the owner, was wonderful and even invited us to an art exhibit. Unfortunately, we were exhausted from our trip and weren’t able to make that, but she was delighted to help us discover the camera obscura images of the outdoors onto the bedroom walls when the outdoor lighting was bright. This was such a delightful highlight of our stay that we kept marveling at throughout our stay!! This will always be such a special memory for us all! The house itself is tastefully remodeled and decorated, holding onto a sense of old world charm with an elegant simplicity that welcomed a simplistic and contemplative feel to our stay. We even had conversations about what was contributing to our desire to sit and read and just be still. The location was amazing!! We were close to everything. We all found ourselves overly eager to simply walk into “town” that literally took less than a minute. Every direction was simply filled with old world charm and such quaintness - exactly what we were hoping to find!

The nights were a bit warm even though there’s AC, but it wasn’t a big deal for us as we knew what to expect after being in several other European accommodations and knowing AC isn’t as cool as in the stages and this is the same for everywhere we stayed in Croatia that had AC. It definitely didn’t taint our experience.
