About this apartment rental
Antique villa with annexes, subdivided into spacious apartment all different from each other. Situated in the hill approximately 1000 ft above sea level. Large walled garden with furniture, parking, swimming pool (12 x 6 m. Approx.) Swimming pool for children, coin washing machine, bowls, ping-pong, games for children, barbecue, and beautiful views over the countryside and of the sea.
The tree-rooms apartments, which can sleep up to six people, consist of a living-room with a kitchen corner 2 double bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, the other 2 bed can be in the bedroom or in the sitting room.
Walking through the large gardens or sunbathing in the sun-lounge next to the two swimming-pools, guests can admire the magnificent views over olive groves and vineyards as far as the sea. Villa Elena is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday in a family atmosphere, with beautiful scenery, fine cuisine, sport and culture, and traditional local events. Villa Elena is ideal for children, who can spend their time in the open air, playing in the gardens or in their own pool. There are a lot of games around the gardens, including table tennis, Bowles, swings, a slide, and table football, as well as the sports area for tennis, five-a-side football, basketball and volleyball, adjacent the residence, Cavallino Matto and Aqua Park .
It is ideally situated for visits to places of interest around Tuscany: Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Massa Marittima, Bolgheri and the famous “DOC wine area” (Sassicaia, Ornellaia), the Island of Elba, national parks and spas.
Sport: The local area offers a whole range of opportunities for sports enthusiasts: from water sports (swimming, sailing, windsurf) to running (in the beautiful pinewoods of Cecina Mare, in the surrounding woods or on the quiet country roads) and cycling. The Etruscan Coast is an ideal training terrain for cyclists, who can take advantage of the alternation of flat stretches and hills (racing bikes) or try the mountain bike routes in the woods: the signposted routes in the “Macchie della Magona” Park, 7 miles from Villa Elena, are particularly recommended. The nearest golf courses are in Tirrenia (30 miles) and Punta Ala (45 miles). There are stables just over a mile away.

We stayed for 2 weeks in a Type B apartment (2 bedrooms). We stayed in the main house rather than one of the annexes and it was the right decision as the high ceilings in our particular apartment which was on the first floor, helped us cope with the heat. Not all the apartments have high ceilings such as this one, so worth enquiring first.
The pool is lovely, clean and there is a separate pool for younger children. The hosts really made us feel welcome. The surrounding garden is pretty with lots of tables, chairs and barbecues. There are swings and boules for the kids to entertain themselves.
In terms of evening entertainment, there was always something going on either in Guadistallo itself, which is a charming small town, or within the grounds of the villa such as wine tasting, a communcal barbecue and on one evening a concert provided by the local police band with the music from 'La Traviata'.
Kitchen is well equipped although potential guests should note there is no oven in the properties, which would have been beneficial. There is also one coin operated washing machine on site at 5 Euros for one wash, so be prepared not to do alot of washing!
Villa is in an excellent location for trips out to cities such as Pisa and Volterra. We went to Elba from Piombino as foot passengers on the ferry for the day, which was a great trip. San Gimignano and Siena are about 1 - 2 hours away if you wish to travel further afield. But there is no direct motorway, so prepare for windy roads on route.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and the villa, although basic, was clean and comfortable.
Would recommend to other families.

Our family (2 adults and 2 children aged 14 and 17) had a fantastic week in this cosy antigue villa in Guardistallo. The appartment was clean and well-equiped with a huge bedroom and a very nice bathroom.
There is internet avallability. The swimming pool and garden are large, clean and very impressive.
The family,who owens the place, showed a lot of hospitality.
We can very much recommend this place to others.

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Woche in der Villa Elena. Genossen haben wir die Lage, mitten im Ort und trotzdem lieblich entrückt dank des riesigen Parks und dem vielen grün. Der Pool war perfekt für uns mit Kind und fußläufig war der schöne Ort mit Restaurants, Geschäften und Bars zu erreichen. Für unseren Sohn hat der Park ständig neue Überraschungen bereitgestellt und es war einfach schön.
Familie Sforzini waren tolle Gastgeber und wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder. Gleiche Wohnung. Es war so schön!
