Older but charming.

Too many light bulbs burnt out, that is a pet peeve of mine. The means either they are intentionally trying to keep electricity bills down by not replacing light bulbs, or just plain old don’t care. I for one always turn off the juice when not in use, I was raised that way, and I do realize a lot of people don’t and just leave the lights on. But LED’s use hardly any power, so electrical use is minimal. On my pathway up to the multiple stories of stairs to access our rooftop room there was a super narrow circular stairwell. So narrow you could only carry one bag up at a time, and there was only one light there, which would not turn on! Also there were at least two others I noticed would not turn on in the main public staircase during my visit, and I did not walk all over the rest of the building to see if others were out but this was a common area! Getting back to that narrow circular staircase, I did see a housekeeper upon checking out and we switched the lightbulb out to another fixture. It seemed the fixture was actually not working. The only light at the most challenging part of getting to our rooftop room! It was a definite safety concern which was difficult enough during the day, imagine using it with minimal/no light at night, and it gets dark early there at around 6:30PM. Once in the room the floor seemed it was only swept, it was apparently clear that with the dull appearance of the floor in the entire room that it has been a while since any real cleaning solution was applied. Maybe it just gets mopped with water, that was my first impression upon walking in the room, it was very noticeable during the day. The rooftop requires either an umbrella or tie up sail for sun protection. It was way too hot to spend any time up there to sit down, relax and enjoy the view. I would stay there again, the best part being the location. I just need to bring my own energy efficient LED light bulbs and Mr. Clean floor cleaner.

Excellent location - central in Casco Antiguo but quiet at night which we really appreciated. Easy instructions to access the building and the room key. Nice big room and comfortable King-sized bed. They stored our bags for us after check-out and the housekeeping staff were very friendly.

Not an issue for us, but be aware that this unit is located on the third floor and there is a narrow stairwell to access it - this could be a challenge with large suitcases. There is a private rooftop patio only accessible to this unit, but be aware that the jacuzzi mentioned in the listing is located on a patio that all guests can access.

A special roof-top apartment (no. 9 in the building) with a roof-top terrace! The main room is large and features a king-size bed under skylights! The location is perfect in the old city.
