The Space:
Our light-filled and open cabin has all the comforts of home, just nestled away in the WV mountains. Aspendale Chalet is fun for couples, families, or groups of friends -- and is the perfect home base for your getaway! The yard is spacious - ideal for outdoor activities, with plenty of room for running, playing and endless fun. We're also dog-friendly.
The cabin includes:
- Outdoor hot tub perfect for relaxing
- Two bedrooms – one with a queen bed, the other with a queen/twin bunk bed and a loft sleeping area with two sets of bunk beds
- A spacious, wraparound deck & grill for relaxing with the gang
- Fenced in area for your furry friends to enjoy
- Modern kitchen with stainless appliances, dishwasher, and island
- Fast, reliable WiFi that’s more than enough to stream movies and hold video calls
- Central air (heat and AC)
- Wood burning fireplace to curl up next to and get cozy at night
- Open main room with plenty of natural light and new wood floors
- Washer and dryer
- Outdoor fire pit to wind down the evening with s’mores!
Our cabin is located in The Woods Resort, a private community with an 18-hole golf course (with low green fees), spa, a restaurant and pub, and miles of walking/hiking trails. It’s considered the best course in the area, and the pub food is pretty great too!
During your stay, you'll have access to the members-only Sports Center, the perfect option for a wintery or rainy day (and just a 5 minute walk from the cabin). The Sports Center includes:
- Indoor heated swimming pool
- Large whirlpool
- Tennis court
- Racquetball court
- Multi-purpose court for volleyball and basketball
- Fully equipped exercise room with free-weights and many workout machines
The Sports Center is members-only, but we’ve set aside complimentary guest passes just for you! Passes will be available at the property—check the house manual for details on where to find them. If you need more during your stay, simply reach out and we’ll be happy to assist.
Please note: Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Beyond the cabin itself, the Hedgesville / Berkeley Springs area is great for so many reasons -- and Aspendale Chalet is just a short drive to everything. The town has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, with dozens of shops and restaurants, and even has two breweries and a winery!

The house was clean with nice accommodations. The community pool and sports center were a highlight of our trip with plenty of different activities to enjoy. Host communication was excellent. Tony was very responsive to any questions we had.

Great place to get away. Secluded and quiet, clean, great amenities. Property manager was very communicative and helpful. We had an amazing time and we would rent again!

The home was all in all worth the rental with some exceptions. Some amenities were lacking. The fitness center was great, both pools were clean and well maintained. The restaurant notated in the listing, unfortunately had a fire and burned last year. That being said, there needs to be more emphasis put on bringing your own food as the nearest store was well over 25 minutes away. There weren’t any other great places to eat that we found besides that. Some of the upkeep on the property has fell by the wayside. Minor things, like light bulbs, the kitchen sink faucet not being properly attached, the dryer needing to be taped closed in order for it to continue to run, no games as stated in the listing. If you are looking for seclusion, this is the place for you! The beds were all comfy and clean and the size of the kitchen and island was amazing.
