WELCOME TO LE VIEIL AIGLUN!
Le Vieil Aiglun is a private medieval hamlet whose only remaining buildings have been renovated into 3 charming and very comfortable gîtes. One of these three gîtes is called "Gîte du Couchant".
"Gîte du Couchant" has a private garden, away from the other two gîtes on the property, and enjoys great privacy.
The property, with an area of 7 hectares, also offers shared relaxation areas: a large secure swimming pool (13 x 6 m) with breathtaking panoramic views, a pétanque court with aperitif area, a children's playground with ping-pong table as well as several terraces equiped with deckchairs and hammocks...
Le Vieil Aiglun holds a remarkable position at the top of a ridge and benefits from a 360° panoramic view.
DESCRIPTION OF THE GÎTE DU COUCHANT:
ON THE GROUND FLOOR:
- a double bedroom with two beds (90x200 cm) that can be placed side by side;
- a bathroom with combined bath/shower, double sink and WC ;
- a room with lounge area (sofa and TV) and dining area (table for 5 guests);
- a kitchen open to the lounge area, fully equipped.
UPSTAIRS:
A triple bedroom with three beds (90x200 cm), two of which can be placed side by side.
OUTSIDE:
The house opens onto a small private garden facing west, with a shaded terrace and a view of the old Romanesque church.
In summer (from mid-May to the end of September), a large secure swimming pool (13x6 m) is available to our guests. We also offer a large garden shared with the two other gîtes on the property. The place enjoys breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and mountains, as well as the old Romanesque church overlooking the hamlet (illuminated at night). Numerous tables, chairs, deckchairs and hammocks are available to our guests, perfect for reading a book or admiring the panoramic views. The three cottages each have a private garden and are completely isolated from each other, so as to respect everyone's privacy.
Le Vieil Aiglun is totally isolated, located at the end of a small dead-end access road. Great calm is therefore guaranteed. However, the small town of Digne-les-Bains with all the shops and restaurants and its bi-weekly market is located 12 km away (15 minutes by car), and the first supermarkets are located 8 km away (10 minutes by car)
RATES:
The prices are all inclusive.
In mid-season and high season, the house is rented BY THE WEEK, from Saturday to Saturday.
In low season, the house can also be rented for SHORT STAYS (minimum 3 nights, from 09/28 to 12/21/2024, from 01/04 to 05/03/2025 and from 09/26 to 12/19/2025).
A discount is granted to small groups of maximum 2 people. Please contact us to benefit from it.

It is impossible to overstate the location and views from this hilltop property! It is a 3 separate houses spacious property that is beautifully maintained with pool and Bocci court. The views are unbelievable. It is tranquil and peaceful. Charles is quick to respond to communications. On site but unobstuvise. The Gite du Midi we stayed in was charmingly furnished. All four bedrooms had their own bathrooms. It was very clean with a good bed linens. The kitchen was small but well stocked with all cooking utensils and dishes etc. I hope to return to this unique and beautiful property.
