Lakeside home-minutes to Callaway Gardens, FDR Park & Impact 360 Institute

Good stay.

We had a great time, it is very spacious and has an amazing view of the lake. We didn't get to enjoy the lake much due to our son getting married at FDR state Park and all the running around that comes with it, but it was refreshing to come back and sit on the porch and unwind from a hectic day. The host was amazing and very responsive to any questions we had and we definitely plan to visit again in the near future!PS: On a recommendation from the host we tried Iron Horse which isn't but a few minutes drive away for dinner and it was awesome, we even went back a 2nd time the next day. Lol

My 8 and 10 year olds absolutely loved this place, and the pond provided peace, excitement, and beauty. We marveled at the population of turtles, the hundreds of tiny frogs jumping everywhere, and the fishing was fantastic. Bass and bream were biting strong, the only trick was to keep the turtles from stealing the bait. The house was very cozy and provided everything we needed very comfortably. In particular, the sun room was a hit, and gave us an amazing spot for a family dinner in the evening or a spot to sit for a board game. Give it a shot, its close to Callaway as well if you have kids, try the butterfly center. Mine thought it was magical.

Lake view was peaceful. I caught two fish. Good location. House was neat. The layout of the house was nice but in need of updating. Decking and dock boards were loose and in need of replacing, we had to be very careful when walking on especially up and down the deck stairs. Outside of the house needs a good gutter cleaning and a good power washing. Coffee maker was very dirty and had to be thoroughly cleaned before we were able to use it. Could use new cooking pans because coating was starting to peel off.
