VerdeMare Charming accommodation in Vietri Sul Mare - Amalfi coast

La posizione centralissima, ma assolutamente tranquilla, la presenza di tutto ciò che serve anche per un soggiorno breve (c’è veramente tutto!!), la gentilezza estrema dei proprietari (check-in anticipato).

We loved the location! 9 steps up out the door to a lively pedestrian zone with lots of restaurants, shops, ceramics, etc. Take a left and go down the hill to experience one of our favorite days in Italy - Crestarella Beach Club (I recommend a reservation). It was 100 euros for the day for 4 chairs & 2 umbrellas in the second row. There's a good beach restaurant/bar and showers. Oh, and we found a lot of beautiful sea glass and terracotta (go early). It was just lovely. Short walk to the bus or train station. We took a bus from here to Pompei and it worked out great. There's a little kitchenette, a washboard and a washing machine --- all of which we used and were very handy. Host was very helpful with recommendations. We highly recommend VerdeMare!

You should know that the VerdeMare entrance is off of stairs. The host recommended we be dropped off at a restaurant close by down the hill. It was close but for those with any significant luggage, be prepared to go uphill and up some stairs. I didn't mind, but I didn't have a lot of luggage.

Der Gastgeber war sehr zuvorkommend: Wir konnten sehr früh einchecken, nachdem sich unsere Pläne geändert hatten. Die Ferienwohnung ist gut ausgestattet, ruhig und dennoch verkehrsgünstig für den öffentlichen Verkehr (Bus an der Amalfiküste und Bahnstation von Neapel aus) gelegen. Vietri ist ein schönes Städtchen mit malerischem Charme. Das nahe Salerno mit seienm botanischen Garten und der Matthäus Gruft war eine echt positive Überraschung! Die Hosteria Il Brigante in Salerno empfehlen wir besonders.

Die Ferienwohnung hat nur ein Fenster und wenn man zu mehr als zu zweit anreist, muss eine der Parteien in der Wohnküche schlafen und das fensterloste Schlafzimmer durchqueren, um zum Bad zu gelangen. Dies weiß man aber durch die Bilder, bevor man anreist. Auch Vietri liegt wie andere Städtchen an der Amalfitana ebenfalls am Hang, der Weg zum Strand hinunter ist lang. Die Küste von Amalfi ist wirklich malerisch aber selbst im Mai schon stark überlaufen.
