    Absolutely disappointing. The room size was good, and the location is the only real advantage. Beyond that, the experience was extremely disappointing. I genuinely don’t understand how Agoda lists Pharos Hotel Nungambakkam as a 5-star hotel. Agoda should seriously reconsider this classification, as the standards are nowhere close to what you would expect from a 5-star property. The towels and bedsheets were dirty and clearly overdue for replacement, and even the breakfast tablecloths looked unhygienic. The bathroom had issues too — the shower wasn’t working properly, and in our first room the hot and cold water were reversed. The AC made a continuous thudding noise for the first three nights, making it difficult to sleep. The staff experience was mixed, with some being quite rude. However, a couple of staff members were helpful, especially the person who changed our room on the last day and genuinely listened to our concerns. For the price being charged, these standards are simply unacceptable. The issues seem to reflect poor management and maintenance rather than isolated incidents. Good location and spacious rooms, but that’s not enough. I would definitely not stay here again and strongly recommend Agoda review the 5-star classification.

    We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean, neat, and well-maintained. The breakfast spread was good, with enough variety to start the day well. There was also ample parking space for cars, which was very convenient. It was good to see that the issues mentioned in older reviews had been addressed and resolved. The only downside was a foul smell coming from the bathroom drain at times, which could be improved. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with good facilities, and addressing the drainage issue would make the experience even better.

    It took about 30 minutes to just checkout. When asked any issues/ why is it taking so long, I was told they've sent someone to check and inspect the room and after a while they said we can leave. Felt very insulting the way I was told it. Will likely never go there again.

    Check in was no smooth. AC temp cannot be adjusted, supercooling. Breakfast spread needs to be improved.
