We have lovely restaurants, like Kingfisher and Delfino's, and we don't have load shedding (rolling black outs for people who live outside South Africa) here - are some of the misleading things said by the host. Either than overselling what would end up being be a mediocre experience at best, there were many more things that the host promised which never materialized. For one, the place could have better hygiene. The coffee machine was not cleaned, some cutlery had food residue and the bathroom had hair - I'm guessing from the previous visitors/tenants. There was was work that needed to be carried out by contractors on the Wi-Fi, and the host felt best that said work needed to be carried out during our time there, because everyone needs to hear constant drilling on their holiday morning - even after we agreed to a time for the work to be carried out when we were not gonna be there. We started to wonder if the restaurant recommendations (mentioned above), as anyone who can google the reviews will see for themselves, were not just a disguised and decrepit lead generation attempt for the restaurants, as those places are poorly rated on google and as we experienced it for ourselves. We had also requested an alternative heater (a gas heater) to warm up the place, but no alternative was organized - and later had to stop using the electrical heater we were avoiding to use because of the "load shedding that never happens" as we were confidently told, which made this a cold stay in more ways than one. Our 3 night stay will always be memorable as one never to be repeated - thanks to a nonchalant and unbothered host.
