I highly recommend Mazarium to anyone visiting Iwate. It’s especially worth staying here if you’re a jazz lover—the hotel has a small section dedicated to a jazz museum, which adds a unique charm. The bathhouse is fantastic as well, and they even serve fresh Iwate milk afterward.
Winter in Iwate can be very cold, but the hotel’s cozy atmosphere makes it feel warm and welcoming. The breakfast is outstanding—definitely support the local hotel breakfast because the quality and flavor are on another level.
Just a few minutes’ walk away, there’s a local Shōtengai (market street) with a small shopping mall and local eateries. Make sure to stop by Michel Bakery, a must‑visit spot for authentic Japanese bread.

The onsen and sauna access alone in this hotel could earn it five stars, but its hospital staff also make it a must book. The hotel includes free parking for your stay which is a great plus considering Morioka is close to so many day or half day trip options.
The bed's pillow was a bit solid for my liking but that's a small, personal, note and would not stop me booking again.

両親と少し大きめの部屋に両親しましたが、2人とも大絶賛でした。
部屋は良い意味でホテル感がなく、清潔感のある理想の部屋でくつろいでいるような気分でした。
タオルやドライヤーなど、アメニティひとつひとつにこだわりを感じましたし、大浴場とサウナも大満足です。
盛岡に来る際には必ずまたここを利用したいと思います。
